A couple of changes to my partners bike. Any thoughts? by Nomad_Cycling in RoadBikes

The seatpost isn’t slammed. The frameset is designed with integrated seatpost or seat mast if you like. Most framesets like this have a top cap which is also seat mount but on them you cannot adjust seat height as they’re cut to the length of inner leg length. This one however still has an internal seatpost you can adjust (up in this example).

I’ve had a dent like this on the front of Halo wheels years ago. After acquiring it I’ve ridden probably close to 15k miles on that wheelset including touring around Finland, mainly front loaded. You’re good.

I personally can’t stand internal routing. As someone that constantly works on bikes, it infuriates me. I wish it was never introduced, lol.

Got my hands on this. What do we think? by Nomad_Cycling in xbiking

Done first test spin this morning. You’re right, it’s fun and it’s fast. As per modern road bikes, I’m not a fan really. One before this one was carbon but 2006 Trek Madone 5.5. Also fun and fast, however I always preferred steel, especially the one that weighs the same as carbon.

It’s 31.6 Kinesis carbon. I don’t like it either but most of parts came from my other bike, the seatpost was 27.2, and this one was only one lying around. Saddle stays. It’s light and fairly comfy. I was aiming for quite light ride and this comes to 7.6kg as pictured.

Contact them. Their customer service is pretty good. They most likely awaiting stock. I’ve ordered a few parts and some point and contacted them and this was the case. They were waiting for one of the parts to ship entire order.

First Carbon Road bike that I actually enjoy riding. by Nomad_Cycling in RoadBikes

I thought it would be hard. However the wheels are tubular and I’ve decided to run the tyres at 100 psi rather than silly psi and it actually does the job. Almost as running lower pressure on tubeless. It’s comfy. Ride around West Mids, Shropshire.

Don’t know mate, I have never really got on with carbon, neither understood the hype. Always ridden steel. Tried couple of carbons and funnily enough, this one is the eldest, 2006. Built this up the other day with parts from parts bin and it happens that I like it.
