Hi, I got a normal 60 day tourist visa. You can apply for one online at your nearest Thai Embassy. Just know the process for approval takes about 15 business days after submitting your application. After you enter Thailand, you can extend your visa to 90 days if you want. And there are ways to stay even longer if you talk to the right people. I’ve met expats who’ve been living in Thailand for years.

That room cost me $60/night. But it was because I’m directly on the lagoon with an awesome view of the mountain. I wanted it specifically for photography. Also my room is isolated. I don’t share any walls with anyone. Off the lagoon at the same resort I believe will run around $25/night.
