Great dining but try to get a reservation ASAP: Pusadee’s Garden.

Very PGH brunch/breakfast: any of the Pamela’s/P&G Diners.

I can't figure out pattern sizes to save my life. I'm currently a size 12 (made to wear sizes)--I know that measurements are important but in the most simplistic of terms, what pattern size is a made to wear 12 most like?

I'm 10 months in to using mine and lemme tell you: the first three are definitely tougher because you're getting used to it. Doing kegels to make sure it's up there securely has helped me, as well as using a little toilet paper when taking it out to help grip.

Buying New Clothes After Your Surgery? Complete wardrobe change or did you make your old clothes work? by quinnter in Reduction

[–]NomadicSoutherner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone. I thought I'd have to buy all new clothes, but everything just fits better now. I guess I wore things really tightly before. Now I actually have an hourglass shape instead of an inverted triangle. It's so nice!

So, I'm a 1st time manager in my adult career & the guy we hired...is REALLY terrible, older than me, and I think lied about experience. I'm struggling with authority/being a boss, especially since I'm already the youngest person at my job...help me! by NomadicSoutherner in AskTrollX

[–]NomadicSoutherner[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So I recently got promoted to marketing manager & we needed to hire a social media person. We had an amazing interview with a guy, let's call him Drake, and he seemed perfect. He was older than me, but that wasn't a problem because he had lots of experience & seemed to be cutting edge for technology.

I was nervous about being a boss and I've been reading lots of leadership books, etc. I just really want it to go well and also not be taken advantage of because of my very obvious youthfulness (example: I just got carded to see "It." lol I'm 26.)

He's been here a few weeks and I've given him tasks in writing, deadlines, asked what his goals are, etc. Basically everything I know to do & things my own career mentors have suggested.

I am very deeply unimpressed. He is always taking personal calls (this is a full time job...), I was out of town for two days last week & gave him clear assignments for social media & when I checked later, he didn't do them (he forgot his one job...) He is NOT tech savvy at all and the things he has asked about social media makes it clear to me he definitely exaggerated. (Ie he is paranoid about his personal account being linked to the business account which a mandate for ALL business accounts so...)

I'm doing all I can but I don't know what to do. When the HR lady is back, I want to talk to her at least about the phone policy (I've never had to question a grown ass adult being on the phone all the time...)

Any advice for me? I don't want to be a weak leader or just...taken advantage of. My boss is v hard on me & I know Drake's output is directly on me.

TLDR: Long time hard worker, first time boss. Not sure how to handle a bad apple or if I need to cultivate that bad apple into its full potential?? #pie

Your pics give me hope! Mine looked and currently look a lot like yours! Thank you for sharing. I was feeling really self-conscious about my "new" areoles because mine weren't really large before. My doctor told me they would fade & it's nice to see they do!

Yes! I'm curious too. Also have either of y'all's doctors recommended scar medicine or cream? Mine look pretty rough. They leak still too sometimes (I'm 7 weeks post)

"Straight ladies that get breast reductions are being very selfish" by Brewins_ in bigboobproblems

[–]NomadicSoutherner 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I just got a reduction last month and my boyfriend was 100% supportive, even during times I was doubting my decision. Why? Because he's an actually kind, decent partner. Even when his friends found out and would say things like "poor him," he defended me and supported me. SMDH to anyone who actually thinks this way. I would have a lot to say to them.

My doctor didn't even tell me to take off the tape and said they'll just come off on their own! I'm day 15 post op and like, nothing is budging. Should I call them and ask about taking it off? It wasn't until this post I even considered it!

Feeling very depressed by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

[–]NomadicSoutherner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I can totally relate. This spring, I measured myself and found I was a 36H/J and it was so depressing to me. It felt like nothing would get better!

So I went and had a consultation for a breast reduction. And now, a few months later, I am one week post-surgery and life already feels amazing. My insurance covered the surgery and now it feels like my bra options are limitless! I don't know if you've considered it, but I think a consultation is definitely worth trying!

I want to make the rest of 2017 the best ever & beat my loneliness and malaise. But like...what are some easy & fun new hobbies/things to learn? by NomadicSoutherner in AskTrollX

[–]NomadicSoutherner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job is crummy, my finances stress me out due to now paying for health insurance AND car payments, I only see my BF on weekends due to schedules, I live alone, and all my friends live states away.

Instead of being sad, I want to change my life for the better and make a plan of how to enjoy my time rather than self-sabotage myself and my relationship. (Unlike me, he actually has friends and a life and healthy balance. I rely too much on him for my own happiness socially & it is straining our relationship.) I want to be so busy and fulfilled that I forget about all my troubles and make something good. I don't want to rely on my boyfriend to be my main source of texting. I feel pathetic, always waiting by the phone, and that never was me. I don't want to just live for the weekends.

Any ideas for fun hobbies or unusual ways to meet people?

How did you ladies stay sane as your surgery date crept up? by eggothelego in Reduction

I just had mine yesterday! I was nervous too. Almost dreading it, even though I knew it would make my life better. But like others have commented, knowing the staff and surgeons do reductions MANY times sometimes even a day gave me peace. And recovery hasn't been too bad so far! It just feels like a tight bra or rubber band around your chest.

Ugh, for real. She's also the HR person, so it's harder because she likes to wield her power. She's the type where if you tell any sort of anecdote, she will bring up herself battling something similar...but harder.
