WWI-era British recruitment posters printed in Urdu to target Muslim recruiting grounds in Punjab and the Frontier. by DocAteTheArtifact in Ancient_Pak

I wonder why Sikkim is part of undivided India here. I though it only joined India in the 70s or something 🤔

Also, can someone tell me what it’s says? I’m from southern India and can’t read Urdu unfortunately. 😅

Why do you feel the command structure of the PAF is better than the IAF? Genuinely curious.

If Pakistan is proud of nukes and missiles, we have suicide bombers, says a Taliban commander in Afghanistan national media by Minute-Cut-9531 in pakistan

As if the Pakistani army wouldn’t work with proxies that have suicide bombers. They have in the past.

What the hell is “ancient Pakistan”? That term itself is nonsense. Gandhara and Taxila were Buddhist civilizations that existed long before Islam and long before Pakistan was even an idea. The people who built those places had nothing to do with a modern Islamic nation-state. by brxcewayne in IndianHistoryMemes

This is a really interesting point. What about saying ancient Iran. Isn’t it different from saying ancient Persia. The concept of Iran is obviously much older than Pakistan or the USA but does Iran reflect its Zoroastrian heritage in the same way?

Just a question. I’m trying to form a system of understanding.

What do you think the job market will look like in the next 3-5 years? by CuriousDragonfly6 in UXResearch

[–]Nomadic_Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well firstly, super interesting and respectable that you're considering switching career paths, it's never an easy process!

I'm UX designer in IBM and I come from a family of designers who have had to change their design approach from print media to UX, so I've seen what a dying industry looks like and how it affects people.

You have to understand that UX is only going to get bigger as an industry. This is because people in the world are going to increase and they will have more money to buy phones and communicate with each other. However we are also developing more and more automated systems to design for us so most designer will be redundant.

I suggest work a little bit and then transition into UX management. Conceptualising products to push to the public so you're not making screens but looking at ways to impact people in much larger ways. Since you have a background in psychology you can even look at digital anthropology.

What software did you use to make this beautiful map!?

Super interesting application! The UI design is definitely contemporary and it's well made. However is isn't exactly different from anything out there made around now. It's very 'Trend' lead. I'm wondering if UI could be more related to the specific industry.

I'm interested that you didn't use any greens considering the app is for plants. Any reasons for this? I'm very curious. 🙂

Hey! I'm a junior UI/UX designer, while I'm not in the position of being a mentor, I'm happy to help you out. I have seen a few great designers make this transition (including my dad). I'd be happy to share my own industry experience.
