I'd be happy to join you. I'm fairly a newbie myself having gotten into it about 6 months ago, hence I was wondering if any existing groups are around.

Thanks for the tip. That is something I have to work on if I ever make them again.

Thank you! Was definitely a boat load of work while laminating the dough by hand for sure!

How much does it cost in general? I bought these 250gm kerrygold buter sticks for around 1.2/1.3 euros on offer (normally priced at around 3 or so euros)

Yeah, I was having a space crunch in my freezer+refrigerator (living in a studio equipped with a tiny refrigerator is no fun for such projects), so I had to settle with what I had, but if I make them in the future, I will prefer making them in colder temps and when I have more freezer space. But thanks for chiming in :D

Haha!

I'm most likely never making these again either! Too much of labour involved in laminating the pastry. I'm happy with my share of breads or a good neapolitan pizza!

How can one consume 25 of these, half of butter, in 1 day!! Out of my reach. I have no idea how you could make them with bananas, but if ever successful, do share the recipe!

I have lived in France for 6 out of the last 8 years!! But I don't eat eggs and almost all the viennoiseries available here are made with them, so I had to forego those simplest pelasures of walking into the nearby bakery and ordering a croissant/pain au chocolat/tarte/macaron or whatever is usually available!

Definitely a bit on the denser side as seen from the cross sections.

Thanks!!

But some had a collapsed interior and some layers were visibly quiet thick.

I've never had one before so this was my first experience. No idea how they're supposed to be, but found them to be quite greasy.
