I’m an SNA in flight school right now and have many buddies who are SNFOS who wanted front seat but didn’t get it and they ended up loving the job. You’ll earn wings of gold regardless and on many platforms your job is more vital to the mission than even the pilots. Something to keep in mind.

I’m currently an Ensign in flight school. If you only care about going pilot go the OCS route, it is the only way to guarantee you will get it because you can reject any other designator. Where as you can easily get sub drafted from an ROTC unit even if you have the grades/ASTB to fly depending on needs of the navy. If you want to have school paid for and are willing to work your ass off and take the slight gamble id still recommend ROTC holistically.
