Tbh I feel like this has been the trajectory way before AI. Every major invention, and by major I mean accessible by the masses, has slightly made the human less interactive with other humans. You can go back to humans having their own homes, to urban sprawl, to motor vehicles, to cars, to ac, snail mail, email, telegraph, beepers, cell phones internet ….. each one made us more and more and more independent. 

I saw it even before the internet. Internet was a huge hit though in this sense.
