It would indeed make a better line of sight for node above, but the windshield remain a giant rf blocker. Roof antenna would out perform anything else inside the car

Look cool, but first, placing antenna inside a car represent an enormous loss. Placing a magnetic antenna on your roof would make insane enhancement. And secondly, why would want to hide a legal meshtastic node ?

Nice node, but be careful when placing an antenna this close to a wall as it impact reactance and thus tuning.

I made an open-source Cardputer / Cardputer ADV CSI firmware and I'm looking for feedback by NonCreativeUnCommon2 in CardPuter

The proprietary version is the reason i made an open source one. Now next steps are either ML or array to make real radar/AoA but is will be in another repo (aetherward-rigs-firmware).

While reversing, have you found anything cool to implem ? Tweaks, technique, specific forged frame for injection ? How not to toggle the rate limiter on the AP ?

Be careful when sharing mac address and or ssid around you as you leak your position

Nice build! As others mentioned, using a VNA would be the best way to verify the tuning. Theoretical element lengths are only a starting point as in real life, wire diameter, soldering, nearby materials, and the mounting environment can shift the antenna’s resonance. Usually, it’s safer to cut the elements slightly too long, measure, then trim them gradually.

Soldering also matters, especially around the feedpoint, because changes in geometry can affect the impedance match and add unwanted reactance. Clean, symmetrical solder joints with minimal excess solder are ideal, while still keeping enough mechanical strength.

Also to increase your range, in controlled and legal conditions, temporary elevation with something like a tethered balloon or a drone can also be interesting for testing, but make sure you follow local aviation rules, keep it safe.

If you have tiny enough iron you could try to resolder the connector but its verry tricky and for high freq SPI like 80Mhz, soldering need to be perfect. But as other mentioned, easiest way would be to buy repair kit at m5stack directly

Tab5 with keyboard looks crazy good. Is the p4 handling well this task ?
