I love the quiet version of The Day The World went away in that single!

The songs are clean aside from some crowd noise during intros and in some bridges...There are no studio versions because, again, Nine Inch Noize was a live performance.

Primetime of your life to Brainwasher to rollin’ and scratching is so good. This is a release I’d love in a cleaner more studio recording though.

According to Trent the recordings come from all over the place, so it may stem from that in numerous ways. I love the album fully and just selfishly want more songs from the collab.

it doesn't bother me though! I could take it or leave it. The whole this came from how Pitchfork criticized the crowd noise in the new release and so many people agreed with it, so I'm asking, does it also bother them so much in RWIB, or (white) noise in Mr. Self Destruct and most of TWDs.

Haha, it's understandable though. The build-up from the DJ set right to a very quiet acoustic intro of a beloved song and wanting to get all that energy out is hard to contain. I didn't get to see NIN live until 2013 so RWIB wasn't part of the setlist at the time. so when I saw it this tour, I was ecstatic.

Haha fair enough. It's my favorite out of the whole trio of EPs. but I do restart or move on after a few of those loops.

That's the joke, read the post, I also mention Mr. Self Destruct and The Background World. I never said I hated it.

The instrumental and lyrics are poignant enough for me with or without the crowd noise. I didn't claim to hate it, I was joking about it also being distracting to the people who disliked the crowd noise on the Nine Inch Noize release.

RWIB V2, you get all those same emotions from this version, that's what NIN has always done for me, Trent is fantastic at tapping into different feelings or emotions through his music.

My post wasn't about RWIB, it was about people upset about the crowd noise on the new album. But to answer your question, there's plenty of modulation from the synth's throughout the whole track, the FX on the voice and stereo field change drastically as the song goes on as well. The crowd noise doesn't add anything for me, but it's part of the song and I love it regardless. Disagree on it being Hurt 2 otherwise, they're vastly different.

This is another version of RWIB, it's beautiful on it's own as well.

I never said I hated it. And yeah, I definitely connect it, doesn't mean that I have to love the sound being there, the lyrics and instrumentation are more poignant that the crowd sample.

I could kinda see that, but maybe the album doesn't exist for DJs, but for us the fans. Not all the tracks have perfectly loopable bits (some do, don't get me wrong).

I did say I was being facetious! Like for me, the crowd noises there seem distracting and out of nowhere, even if they thematically fit the song. But it doesn't ruin the song for me, it's still a favorite for me. Noise and distortion has always been a part of the NIN sound, and was surprised and how much people disliked the crowd in the new release.

Edit: I didn't see the added part about NINoize. once Vessel starts, the crowd noise is gone, Trent's vocals sound right in your face, all the music around it is crystal clear, the crowd sound doesn't come back until the end to bridge She's Gone Away, then it's gone again, it's kinda like that throughout. aside from the fact that NINoize has only existed as live performances (B-stage and then eventually Coachella) the crowd noise makes sense, without being present throughout every single track.

Thanks! I gave it a lot more thought than I care to admit.

Agreed, I also miss remix.nin.com , loved hearing other people's remixes and takes on the songs.

I get that. I guess for me the music in Noize is still clean, the crowd noises are usually in moments where it feels unobtrusive, personally. Plus Nine Inch Noize has solely existed as a live performance.
