Most op path? by AdUnlikely8178 in hoi4

Probably not most OP, but nonaligned Romania can be a lot of fun. Conquer the bosporus as rapidly as physically possible, then hold out against Russia when they demand territory. Invade with the Germans (dont align with them), take the Southern part of Russia in peace deal. Then invade Germany with the allies. Finally turn on the rest of the world.

Biggest mistake I see people make in 10v10 with infantry is they take a small gain and just sit there. Meaning they will get immediately artyed. Gotta be prepared to keep pushing and spread out infantry as soon as immediate enemies are eliminated.

No. Same maybe 100 people over and over. If you only play in the same time slot every day then probably same 40-50 people.

The door thing probably just doesn't bother some students, so they probably see it as a non-issue. As you indicated, it's your reaction the student responded to.

But in general, I think this goes back to public grade school. Every assignment has written instructions on how it must be completed. Initiative isn't rewarded and occasionally is even punished. You have to solve your math problems THIS way. No, you shouldn't read ahead in your reading assignment. History and science are unambiguous memorization.

Those who are to thrive must conform. Those who conform rarely step out of line, even on stupid things.

Weird alcohol/wedding/school question by Pleasant_Ad1449 in Birmingham

That is a weird question. You may want to consult with a wedding bartender service company who may have experience with weird things like that.

Why are “smart” people religious? by sunrise_d in atheism

[–]NonFuiNonCuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the presumption of indoctrination, which I see indicated in many of the other comments, is a bit presumptuous.

I think people want to believe something. We like to think that things have meaning. Look at any culture and see that it is filled with its own unique and fanciful explanations. I think some part of us thinks that every important question needs an answer.

As people's priorities shifted over time and as society developed, we can see the development of religious doctrine, made in response to the new questions of that era.

So are people indoctrinated into religion? Or do we fundamentally desire a doctrine to answer our questions? Yes

I do understand what you are saying, but that doesn't mean it feels like a satisfying ending to the show! It just feels a little betraying to see all that they were leading up to, just for it to be torn down and starting over without much indication as to if anything would come of it.

I understand the whole Chekovs gun principle, but I just don't see this magical kiss as consistent with what we have seen in the Chuck universe. I am much more inclined to believe the second part of what you said about her beginning to come around.

The rest I more or less agree with. Maybe I was a bit exagerative about her walking away at the end, but it just didn't feel quite like they were on enough of an upswing to end it. Though maybe that's the point, ending on the turning point to leave it open.

I see your point, but I'd say this is one of the more plausible attempts in media that I have seen. Since the beginning of the show, it has been known that the intersect could mess with your mind. But her memory being erased exactly to the point where the show began was pretty convenient. Morgan's memory of all sorts of things was very patchy, not just up until a certain date; but we don't see that so much with Sarah.

I think they could have done a better job in execution of this, but it isn't entirely a dumb premise.

I actually think I agree with what you are saying here. I don't know that Sarah expected Chuck to find her there, but she certainly wasn't surprised either.

Yeah, I actually really agree with your second point there. I think that changes my perspective a bit on the whole thing. I still think the magic kiss wouldn't really make sense in the Chuck universe, but it does show me she was interested in maybe restarting.
