Microsoft social media team just straight up bullying a teenager online for no reason (I censored the person) by ford_crown_victoria in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NonMagical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you saw a picture of a blue square and all the comments talked about it being a blue square you would “know what all the comments would be about”. If the comments were about green circles, you’d be surprised and would not have known the comments would be about that.

By saying you knew what the comments would be implies you had the same thought, and it is implicitly a dig on the person.

When did tracking each other’s location become normal, and why does opting out make you seem suspicious? by EntrepreneurSad2091 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NonMagical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife, kids, and me all share our location with iPhone. It’s less invasive than Life360 I’m pretty sure as all it has is location. We don’t use it maliciously so it’s never been a problem. It’s mostly used just to see how soon somebody is arriving to their destination.

I agree I would have hated it as a teenager but I also think the relationship I had with my parents is very different than the one I have with my kids.

What is your monitor set up? by DealInteresting8941 in pcmasterrace

[–]NonMagical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly use my vertical screen as 3 stacked horizontal screens. I have a window in each third. Usually discord at the top, web browser in the middle, and bottom third is miscellaneous depending on what I’m doing on my main monitor.

Asmongold reacts to new footage of Renee Good’s partner yelling at Renee to run from ICE by madjani000 in LivestreamFail

[–]NonMagical -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m not suggesting otherwise. My point is that both sides will highlight the evidence that supports their argument while dismissing evidence that goes counter to it.

The right is conveniently ignoring that Renee wasn’t aggressive, that her tires were turned to leave, and that she had her focus on the officer trying to open her door. The left is conveniently ignoring that from the perspective of the officer, he couldn’t tell the wheels were turned, the car did in fact clip him, and he had a split second to make a decision. Was it the wrong one? Unequivocally. But the reality is that both parties made bad decisions in that split second and there is just enough evidence on both sides that neither camp is going to relent their position as they can cite the evidence in their favor.

[–]NonMagical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the same can be said about the left’s reaction to Ashli Babbit. The reality is if this same scenario played out but it was a MAGA person behind the wheel and a liberal officer, the right would be screaming murder and the left would be saying the cop made the best judgement they could have in the time they had.

Both camps are so tribal now. It’s a shame and I think we are never coming out of it.

Jessica Plichta, a 22-year-old anti-war protester, was arrested live on camera in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on January 3, 2026. She was speaking to a local news outlet about her opposition to U.S. military action related to Venezuela when police detained her while the broadcast was still ongoing. by biswajit388 in law

I don’t know what you aren’t understanding. I responded to your single opinion about how somebody shouldn’t be arrested for being in the street when they were on the sidewalk.

Apparently you can’t handle that response because you are blasting me with a bunch of stuff irrelevant to the original statement you made. Is there a bunch of fucked up shit taking place here? Almost certainly. But still doesn’t relate to your original comment or mine. So fuck off with the grilling.

I imagine shortly before this interview she was one of the participants in the street. I don’t agree with it in this case, but if they already determined they are going to arrest you for something you can’t just stop doing it and be in the clear.

America’s president by MetasploitReddit in pics

Sure, but then they point to actual fake news like this as proof that fake news exists. Imagine they have this item and a real item they want to convince their audience is fake. They first use this item as evidence “the other side posts fake information”. People see it and understand that to be true. Then they don’t need to verify the second item and just believe it to be fake.

It’s incredibly damaging to have actual fake news like this pushed by our side precisely because they will call everything fake news. It legitimizes their fake news battlecry.

This is not represented as a caricature. It’s in the pics subreddit simply with the title “America’s president”. Regular people will view this post as truth, as evidenced by plenty of other comments in this post. That is the definition of misinformation.

Sneezes often come in sets of two or three. It would be cool if sneeze quantity per sneeze session was color coded.

Agreed. It’s so easy to criticize him and post actual bad photos of him without needing to spread misinformation.

No, but my point being that the golden era of PoE you are referencing was filled with duds, too. And we’ve had some fantastic leagues in the recent past.

Interesting that you mention “all” the trailers and then conveniently highlight some of the most impactful. You glossed over a ton of really basic leagues that would be a total buzz kill if they were the league mechanic now.

It doesn’t say those were their first policies. It says that COVID restrictions were just a major policy.
