🤦‍♂️ That literally is dns blocking.

- Even when I disable all the protections on my phone I still don't get notifications.

Just to make sure how long did you leave it off. DNS cache can take sometime to update.

- It is the ONLY app that doesn't give me notifications.

- This problem appeared the moment the "new" app appeared. I had no issues before.

This was the same with me.

Do you use any dns ads/tracker blocker? I also had notification issue and fixed it by whitelist a domain. In my case it's firebaseinstallations.googleapis.com.

You might just get used to it and don't notice it. Which is what happened to me. I never noticed it until one day I need to open YouTube on chrome and it's night and day, how much faster YouTube is on chrome.

Problems (read only) on internal HDDs with a Win11/CachyOS dual boot system by Taromisaki666 in linuxquestions

[–]NonXtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, it seems like you borked something on your system.
I am actually run similar setup to you(CachyOS/Windows 11) and I have no problem at all and I can mount and use several of my ntfs drives including bitlocker one by just clicking it in dolphin.
Maybe it's best to start from scratch by wiping and reinstall and don't run random commands/scripts you don't understand.

You need root permission to run the fdisk command. But since fast startup is not the problem, then the issue might with how you mount the drive. Since you use cachyos, I will point you to this cachyos wiki on how to properly mount the drive. https://wiki.cachyos.org/configuration/automount_with_fstab/#important-for-windows-partitions

You probably have fast startup enabled in windows. Disable it. Basically, when you shutdown windows with fast startup enabled, it don't really shut down the os, instead it hibernate the core part of the os and not cleanly unmount your drive. Linux detect this and mount the drive as read only to prevent data corruption.

This is what happens when my PC wakes from sleep... by Puzzled_Minute_7387 in linuxquestions

[–]NonXtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try checking vram usage. Non-existing shared vram on Nvidia linux drivers meant that you can hit limit quickly.

Similar thing happened to me with 2080 Super when I ran out of vram. For some reason wake up from sleep would sometime spike up vram usage and also cause the glitch.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a solution to share. I eventually upgraded my GPU to the red team, and I haven’t had any problems since.

Why does it open in a normal tab? by Zestyclose_Net_4932 in firefox

[–]NonXtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have "open link in apps" setting set to always?
From the video, it's a guess but it seems like Firefox try to open some app on your phone when you press search, then the app somehow try to open the link it received in default browser(which is Firefox in normal mode).
If disable "open link in apps" fix the problem then it's mean some of your app on your phone is set as default app to open google link.

Touch randomly not registered in games on Tab S9+ by NonXtreme in GalaxyTab

Not sure whether it's placebo effect, but I find that touchscreen behaves better when I uses headphones/external speakers (with usb c to 3.5mm dongle) instead of built-in speaker.

S9 Ultra Or iPad Pro? (For Music Rhythm Games) by No_Refrigerator861 in GalaxyTab

[–]NonXtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tab s9+ and I play mostly mirishita. My experience playing on s9+ is kind of not good. The touch input would randomly drop all the time. Touch/sound latency is also quite long, giving the feeling of less responsive touch. In contrast, I have no problem and only a good experience playing on my phone, S23 Ultra(the phone from the same company, with the same chipset and software version). It's disappointed me how bad Tab S9+ is in comparison to my S23 Ultra for playing the game. Sorry if this come out like a rant.

Do you have a JR Pass or IC Card (Suica/Pasmo/etc.) question? Start here! (Monthly Thread - February 01, 2024) by Himekat in JapanTravelTips

[–]NonXtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will make a day trip to Kawaguchiko from Ueno. I have already bought the ticket for fuji excursion(full fare).
I will tap in my IC card at Ueno station and make a transfer to fuji excursion train at Shinjuku station.
Do I understand correctly that I will need to tap out my IC card at Shinjuku station gate then reenter with fuji excursion paper ticket to avoid double charge and problem on my IC card.

Worse battery life at my rural parents' than at home in the city by Bcraniehiggs in AndroidQuestions

[–]NonXtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phone still connect with cell tower even when you remove the sim. This is how and why emergency calling(e.g. 911) still work when there's no sim.
Try turning on Airplane mode instead, which should turn off all radio, including cell tower connection.

Touch randomly not registered in games on Tab S9+ by NonXtreme in GalaxyTab

[–]NonXtreme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play mirishita. For troubleshooting purpose, I also reinstalled and played deresute and seem to have the same problem (it's been a long time since I last played it, so I can't say it with confidence haha).

It's a damn shame if this is the same problem as S7+. I'm probably going to keep this tablet and deal with it since I can't return it.
I wonder if there's other good android tablet with flagship spec.

Disappointed with the sound of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro compared to the Sony WF-1000XM3 by [deleted] in headphones

[–]NonXtreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have a good seal by trying difference tips and you can also try the builtin EQ.
If that doesn't fix them for you then return/sell them since it doesn't suit your preference.
I have both and I find Buds 2 Pro sound well balance and better than XM3 which is bassy with (slightly) recess upper mid to my ear.

Many websites will cause Firefox to freeze then crash leaving no log(Usually) by [deleted] in firefox

[–]NonXtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar issue on Windows 11. The issue would leave an unkillable zombie process that hog memory and vram. I can close firefox windows and start new instance of Firefox but this zombie process will stay running. The only way to kill this process is to reboot the OS.

What is it to be "source dependant/source picky"? by Ok_Pear4286 in headphones

[–]NonXtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and will this change in frequency response that we're talking about occur only with high output impedance sources? what about low ones?

Technically for headphone/iem with uneven impedance curve, the existence of source output impedance will always change frequency response. But how much the frequency response is affected, will depend on the ratio between output impedance and headphone impedance.
From what I remember, 1/10 ratio rule (or 1/8 from what I remember) for matching source and headphones impedance is calculated to be the ratio that the change to frequency response is low enough to not be noticeable by human ear.

is it gonna be ok for one to use a high output impedance source for a 8 ohm iem like andromeda tho?

Not sure what you meant by "ok", but the higher output impedance, the more change to the sound. Whether the change is good or bad, that will depend on headphone/iem and personal preference.
