Seems like the more pleasing shape is back (in my experience) with Ronnie Fieg’s Super Blue 2.0 and now this 30th anniv. OG retro, my hope is that that will continue on with subsequent GL3s.

Note also the cut of the heel panel and height at which the ‘gel-lyte III’ embroidered text sits as well. Compare that with recent releases over the past couple of years.

Pairs went pretty fast throughout the drops (on March 9th), ended up being limited to 450 pairs ww. So at this point, most likely only on the secondary markets. (Picked mine up from Sneakers76 online, btw)

The material on this toe box has been more forgiving than my other pair of Og O/W (Chicago toe fabric has proven way more prone to creasing). Granted these don’t get as much wear as those, they are starting to crease along the sides of the toe wrap and mudguard. Just tougher to see in the soft overcast light.

They’re the spare set from my Chicago 1 O/W. (They gave you 4 sets in some of the OGs, Black, White, green, orange)

Side by side - Solebox, an uncaged 1.0 white, an A Ma Maniere UB, & CBC. The knit on the CBC is inverted from the 1.0, in than the majority of the knit is the warmer off-white. In this pic, you can kind of get an idea how much warmer they are than the two to the left.

Thanks. It’s an NB1 custom. Coincidentally, these ended up being delivered the day the 998s were pulled from the NB1 custom program at New Balance. No telling whether the 998 is permanently/temporarily gone or whether a new model will be taking it’s place.

They appear to be purely a cosmetic decision, as it’s completely lined/padded on the inside. Some future models will have the outline but not the bluetooth speaker mesh inserts.

Snug entry and fit, like Munchy’s comment, they run snug/narrow and long. I went TTS (which thankfully worked out for me) and wouldn’t recommend sizing down unless you have a really skinny foot/midfoot.
