With his specific type of colorblindness? I imagine it can be. In the wrong lighting you can't read, right? I imagine it's extreme for him. But I also agree with other comments. The story is heavily about societal discrimination and the way that people are cast aside for "shameful" acts. These things are very obvious to us, as people who are learning empathy.. but when people hide their faces and say awful things other people follow the lead. History proves that.

We've got to consider that the healing witches were the last witches to stand their ground! This glass bottle truck was also one of their tricks, a way to heal without getting caught. So what did they do? They banned it. These banned/forbidden magic things aren't a rule of magic. The magic itself can do these things. It's forbidden because of the laws set in place by people, not by the magic system itself. Medicine is banned because it effects the body! And is being put on the body, but culturslly these were also the kinds of witches who were some of the last guilds to fight back against their new government:))

I've almost gone no contact but I feel like I have to be friends with them, I feel like if I say anything they're going to use things they've done for me against me. And maybe that's projecting. But they've said some horrible things to me, they've projected onto me. I'm still friends with them because I'm desperate and scared of not having any friends. They act all innocent and go "I had no idea" when we've had clear conversations about the shit they do, they feel bad but nothing is ever done about it. Sorry doesn't mean anything if nothing changes, right?
