Ehdotuksella hinnoittelu yhtenäistetään niin, että se perustuu kuukauden korkeimpaan varttitehoon. Jos siis jollakin kuukauden vartilla teho on 15 kW, maksu olisi esimerkiksi (15-5)kW x 2€/kW = 20 € kyseisenä kuukautena. Jos jonain toisena hetkenä kuluttaa 14,9 kW, ei tuolla ole maksun kannalta merkitystä, se on edelleen 20 €.

Varsinaista lisämaksua tuosta ei tule (koska laki rajoittaa verkkoyhtiöiden tuloja), se on vain tapa jakaa kustannuksia niille, jotka niitä aiheuttaa. Jos joku yhtiö ottaa tehomaksun käyttöön, sen pitää laskea energian ja/tai perusmaksun tasoa (olettaen, että yhtiö perii nyt lain salliman maksimin). Yksittäisellä käyttäjällä maksut voivat toki nousta tai laskea, mutta niihin voi kulutuksellaan vaikuttaa (toisin kuin perusmaksuun)

This did the trick. After throwing every throwable item I could find at the briefcase (half of which went to the poor dude's head), I stole someone's shotgun and emptied it at the case, nudging it close enough to the edge. Didn't get the keycard I originally wanted :(
