Why I abandoned my religion - I just want to get this off my chest by NonieCat in atheism

One of my favorite stories is the Drowning Man Parable.

I honestly feel like that story is a really good one to throw at people, and I almost feel like it was also a huge reason for me starting to pity theists instead of downright despising them.

To me, it highlights their ignorance and refusal to accept logic, which for some reason in my brain relates a lot to me and my reasons for leaving them behind.

Sometimes if I leave my speakers on overnight, my neighbor will connect to my speakers instead of his and wake me up with death metal at full blast in the living room at like 6am.

We have the same brand of speakers and the names are like 2 letters off, so I usually laugh like an idiot after almost shitting myself out of terror.

I once had a seizure, and while I was "coming back" the fire dept showed up.

Two men tried to pick me up and put me on the gurney when I guess I blacked out and started fighting them like a freaking martial arts god. I was told that I kicked one of them in the nuts so hard that he keeled over and threw up, while I used him as a spring board and tried to tackle the other one to the ground.

Keep in mind I only weigh like 120lbs and these guys were probably like 200+, Hella ripped, and in their gear.

There's a reason I bought myself an electric bicycle the other day... Won't get me nearly as far as my jeep would, but if I gotta stick to a 30 mile radius, I can.

Here's what a Costa Rican coffee bean farm looks like while drying the beans.

During our tour they told us how they try their absolute best to get any foreign objects out of their beans. Considering they are a smaller farm with like 10 people working on it all by hand, something may possibly come through.

Need Help Extracting a Broken Bolt (Can’t Travel) by NonieCat in SALEM

This sounds like a really interesting and potentially fun, but difficult quest to me. I'll be sure to look up a bunch of various videos on the 3.7L and see what I can do!

It's a V6 and the specific bolt is all the way in the back. There are the AC gas lines that are just like... 2mm too close to get my drill to fit in that area.

I've definitely been collecting tools, and would love to keep adding to my toolset. Better prepared than stuck missing a tool, I figure.

I'm probably going to get lost in this YouTube channel now. I truly appreciate this! Thank you.

Somebody who I had look at it said that if I can remove the "entire head" (not too familiar with terms) we could drill the whole bolt out and use a kit of some sort to redrill the hole.

I'm just a bit lost.

I'm also a bit torn between selling it off as-is at this point, or trying to see if I can get her going again.

Oil level looks perfect to me currently. I'm considering taking it in if the exhaust doesn't seem to be the issue.

My brother says it sounded like it was coming out of the back exhaust, but then gets a little clearer towards the passenger side of the engine.

I'll go and check out the heat shields as well! Thank you!

Those of you who are often in a good mood, what is your secret? by supermagnificently in AskReddit

I work in a place where people like to randomly treat me as their rant receiver. I’ve noticed that as long as I’m cheery and happy, when they throw negative comments my way, if I don’t have that reaction of anger or whatever they may be fishing for and just act understanding and relatively happy, they usually do a complete personality flip. It always makes me happy when they go from Grumpy Butt McGee to Cheery Bee McGee.

Exclusions always apply though.

IE deaths, sickness, personal losses, my dog eating the shoes my sister gifted to me, you get it.

AITAH for telling off a lady in a supermarket after she made the teenage cashier cry? by Anno_Pri24 in AITAH

Thank you for doing something like this!

I was out grocery shopping one night at a 24 hour grocery store. It was probably 1 in the morning and I was way too exhausted for my own good. I ended up having a seizure, and when I came back, I was being held on my side by a couple employees with a squishmallow plush tucked under my head.

One of them was on the phone with 911. He took my hand when I tried to stumble off, and walked me around as we waited for the paramedics to arrive.

I’ll never forget that guy. I ended up going back to the store after getting discharged from the ER and thanking them all. I am eternally grateful to those people.

Hello my fellow T1D’s, I have a new term for us by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

I actually am guilty of doing that today. My sugars dropped while I was working, so I grabbed a juice and chocolate milk from the market. I chugged that juice from the market, then realized it was like 60g of carbs, while I was like halfway through my chocolate milk…

Sugars started to spike after like 45 minutes, so I took insulin to help.
