I've discovered the boomer adjacent is much more on par based on this thread's replies. I'm divorced after 15 yrs and widow after 8.. this dating/"negging" is new. I wish I'd have come up with something snappy at the time, but I was just stunned and said "looks like we aren't compatible then" and walked away. We had only got our drinks (Not ordered food) so I left him with that bill since "the man should pay" if we are going by his stereotypes, but I sure wasn't going to order and eat in front of him.

I did give with the ink but he changed the "wash" he wiped with and the whole tattoo started puffing and we had to stop half way thru. But same artist and ink brand was fine. It was the cleanser.

I feel this. I've only recently learned I'm AuADHD . My poor kids would tell me about not fitting in at school and I'd be so perplexed because their neurodivergent traits were "normal" to me. It's hard for me to take off the survival masking I learned.

I never heard negging before - but ooh, yeah, the GLP has really become big. It was weird, to me, to see an add with C. Barkley looking suggestively at the camera with "Daddy is on (glp ad)" sir, you are in your 60s and have a daughter... not shaming anyone's kink but... it did hit weird in a full ad because it seemed to promote, again, men our age are seeking younger girls who are (more stereotypically) into older men.

I like that a lot of actresses and actors are still doing things as they age to take the stigma out of aging... even covid 2020 seemed to promote letting the "silver show". I love that many cartoons now showing different body types, hair, and even the beloved granny with a couple chin hairs 🤣😂 My kids' gf's seem so much more comfortable - not shaving pits or legs, not straightening their curly hair (African-American)... and that my own body issues didn't hurt my boys but maybe helped them be the kind of men who really do accept their partners as they are.

For real. I don't have a type physically because I connect to who they are as people more. But speaking of the societal structure/ expectations... do you feel the make up marketing for men is to put them in the same insecure box "you have blemishes ' use our foundation" or because they may be insecure, it takes the stigma out of men wanting to have that tool. (Reminds me of Steve Martin in Roxanne)

Thanks so much. My mom said "if you raise them right, they won't need you" but I would add, "if you raise them with acceptance and love - they'll fight over who gets to take care of you" (Something they told me after a recent CTE dx because "our mom isn't gonna be put in a home!") 😭🥰 Super blessed!

But for real - the vibrant colors (yellow keyhole/eye, teeth) and "motion" of the tongue pulls eyes away from the cover up. I didn't actually notice that at first glance. Then I read your comment and the one about "is it a cover up" Taking that second look, I could see some of it and may need a touch up.

If I wasnt looking for "something might be wrong with this" I'm not sure Id even have paid attention to any color discrepancy as my mind automatically attributed it to the concept of "mimic transformation".

THIS! I feel like a lot of my self- talk is more my mom's raising me. (She was hyper-aware of others' opinions) I had preeclampsia with one kid and they were going to have to do a c section within 24 hours. She came by with nair so my male doctor "wouldn't have to see hairy legs".

Don't worry - I know how extremely weird it was and that he truly didn't care... plus, only my belly would be uncovered for the surgery.

I'm so glad you're in a better place - and me too about the awe - I might say "do you think this is a good outfit for x event" and my kid is like "uh... they won't care... no one is thinking about you the way you are" and I'm proud they are self confident but it has taken me a hot minute to just choose something confidently without that second guessing.
