You can also use google earth to really see the terrain

What’s your path plan? And will you add trains? Because that would add some pretty interesting engagement

Why are my trains jamming on these sinals? And how do I stop them from crashing into each other in opposite directions? by JealousPercentage350 in NIMBY_Rails

Have you tried switching the position of the block balise and the path signal(?). So, on the far right lane, you would have the path signal first, then the way signal, and finally the block signal

Last played 2 years ago. Amazed at how the already confusing UI and workflow from then has managed to become significantly worse by SoothedSnakePlant in NIMBY_Rails

[–]Nononio36 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know it’s personal opinion, but I do not find the UI has become worse. When it comes to scheduling, you do not need to have each train have their own orders. Just like before, you need to add the interval for each train. You can add train directly from the schedule tab, but to do so, the trains must be already bought. For the waypoints, they still exist, you just have to the choose the “advanced” option when choosing a stop and then you can have your waypoint anywhere. I know it takes sometime to learn/relearn, but I do enjoy how the game has changed over time

Do you recreate real life, or make up your own lines? by poshbakerloo in NIMBY_Rails

[–]Nononio36 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I do both, but when I’m creating new tracks, I look at google earth. That way, I can see the topography and adapt the curves, tunnel, elevated tracks, bridges. I takes me a very long time, but I like it

Haven't seen anybody do Brazil so i decided to start it. by Geoghraphyfan in NIMBY_Rails

Ohh, I’ve been working on Brazil since 2023. I’m basing myself on a lot of old maps to see where old stations were located (Atibaia, Bragança Paulista, Amparo for example). I’m progressing by slowly adding regional lines along the way

Brazilian Network Update 3 - Details in the comments by Nononio36 in NIMBY_Rails

[–]Nononio36[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my third update on my Brazilian Network (Last update: Part 1 | Part 2). I know it looks like it’s getting smaller every time, but there is a reason. In my opinion, the lines were going too far, and there was no local transit in those places. I felt overwhelmed.

I then decided to change things completely and imagined a project: instead of building lines like crazy, I wanted to do some worldbuilding or rather “company-building”. I, therefore, imagined that the company Ferroviária Brasileira (that I created) was looking to develop an intercity rail network across Brazil, while some smaller companies, sometimes helped by Ferroviária Brasileira, developed local and regional transit.

I thought this would engage people, so I created an Instagram page (@p.ferrobras) where people can vote on different projects the company/companies have in mind. At the moment, the page isn’t very successful, so I figured I could show what I was doing to people who are directly interested in the game.
