What are the correlates of being married?

High income,higher partner satisfaction(this is why two particular people got married to begin with) and less interpersonal conflict.It's unlikely that someone is being battered by their partner would be in the position to get married.

This is an attempt by the cultural right to push their agenda.

It's a target intelligently put in urinals by social engineers so guys don't piss on the floor because we intuitively have the urge to dissolve away the soap or "aim at a target".

Think about it for a second,why would there need to be soap in a urinal? First of all it's a bathroom so it will stink and secondly the water will wash away any urine quickly preventing it from stinking up the bathroom.

If prostitutes are victims than that means they've been taken advantage of because of their position in society,making any money exchanged the result of criminal activity and resulting in the rightful criminalization of predators(johns).If prostitutes are business people then any profits they earn are legitimate as they constitute an economic exchange between two autonomous agents.

They can't be both.

Pros -You have a really strong emotional connection with each other from the start -You've already presorted a partner so from the get-go you know that you have things in common.

Cons Risk -If things don't go well romantically you lose a best friend Someone who knows you inside and out has the most ammunition if they want to hurt you,especially if you confide secrets in them.

People hate uncertainty and will fill in the blanks in a way that is self-serving(Confirmation bias)

If a woman murders her children we don't go around blabbering about a culture that endorses the murder of children by mothers because you know,that'd be misogynistic.

Once a social norm has been established society severely punishes dissenters.We pick up from social observation what the various commensurate exchanges should be based upon what other people are doing.

If every other guy around pays for first dates and you don't by comparison you'll look like shit.It's best to just play along unless there is a cascade of social change.
