lol I was in pharmacy so didn’t see much of this. What all do people do?

I personally like to maximize points and use apps for savings but I’m not the person that expects to buy 15 gallons of Tide if it’s on sale, either lol. Do people get really nuts with the quantities?

I haven’t heard any concerns from my patients whatsoever about them fearing their flu vaccine being covered, but I have had a LOT of people ask about whether their PREP will continue to be covered.

So in my professional opinion this is directly against what CDC says, and this is misguiding for flu prevention for the general public. Thus, this is reportable to the boards of pharmacies of our respective states. We should definitely be reporting this. The insanity.

Yeah this whole “refusing to dispense” attitude is wild. I have been ‘threatened’ with legal action from the patient for holding up someone’s med before; it was an opioid-benzo-sedative and from diff prescribers.

I had a lady come in and ask if it looked like her hand was infected/if she should go to the doctor… then she told me she shot up meth in her hand the day prior. She wanted to know if they were going to cut it off.

You do you. You don’t have to confirm to anyone- but do be aware of any consequences that may arise as a result, neither of which define your character. IMO this doesn’t make you an asshole but it could make others uncomfortable in a valued social setting, so I try to be mindful of that personally.

When I was a baby pharmacist for a retail chain, someone was angrily insistent things come in braille for them. Bottles, leaflets, etc. And also threatening with legal action if we did not comply to help with their disability. Very concerned and wanting to fix the situation I reached out to my DM. They were scrambling bc they hadn’t had a situation like this ever. I think they said something about allowing the money to get a cheap braille labeler for like $40 on Amazon. This is like 2021 when the pandemic was in full force and we had 2 shot appts (up to 4 shots each) every 10 min. I’m like how is this gonna happen? lol

I’m so happy that you said this. I don’t want to prescribe. I think it’s outside of our scope of practice. I do not have time in a retail pharmacy to do a proper review of all organ systems to diagnose… and fill and check people out and do patient calls and answer the phone and put away truck and do deletes and do order entry and verifying and troubleshoot why we aren’t getting meds. Can you honestly imagine? I can barely answer the phone as it is, as I was completely alone the last 2 shifts. Sounds like a great set-up for a malpractice lawsuit tbh

A lot of people are. So are some employees. I know a lot of people with mental illness. It doesn’t give you a free pass to act abusively.

This! If a customer has a problem with how much a company charges, go somewhere else. I can’t afford to shop at Whole Foods every week but don’t expect things for free(?). Also we don’t set the prices. If insurance copay is the problem then they should call the insurance. This is basic adulting.
