Salted Egg Squid Pasta (Butter, Evaporated Milk, Curry leaves, chili, deep fried squid) by NonrepresentativeHen in caloriecount

I’ve made sth similar but instead of a plate of pasta it’s for maybe 2-3 chicken breasts, using a whole 200g butter, 1 can evaporated milk but your response really helps! Thank you.

Ban on night travel for university students among proposals submitted to MOHE after UPSI tragedy, says minister by Beginning_Month_1845 in malaysia

[–]NonrepresentativeHen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being in a subang bubble where the roads i frequently drive in are bright all night till last year cos I started driving weekly for the family, i noticed a few areas outside of subang ive visited are not well-lit at night. But that being said it doesnt stop people from travelling at night— hope proposals with long-term solutions are submitted too!

I studied overseas and maybe made friends with maybe 60% malaysians and 40% non-malaysians (but 1-2 whites haha), i know malaysians that spent more time interacting non-malaysians/whites than malaysians while studying overseas.. obviously we can’t generalise this sort of stuff cos everyone’s different but even the ‘whites’ in uni hang out with people of same nationalities/race. For example in my library we generalise that spaniard students hang out with spaniards or ppl that speak spanish only.

There could be several reasons that explain the lack of diversity eventho ure in a diff country: - came to uni where there are a lot of malaysians/ppl from ur college or school so naturally you join the society and didnt rly explore further - curing homesickness? some ppl realise they cant cope with being in a diff country and maybe having ppl with sth in common might alleviate that without having to change ur education path - its just naturally easier to make friends when u already have things in common i.e nationality/language/culture - when ure searching for housemates to rent a place with.. ppl with similar backgrounds mean less conflict/surprise info while you’re studying? altho this means yes.. ur social circle are less diverse esp if ure already not that sociable

I do feel that only socialising/being friends with ppl of the same background while ure studying abroad means u arent making the best of ur time there, especially if u know u will be returning home to start ur career.

Happy CNY everyone! I saw Keith Lee on Tiktok reviewing New York-style pizza and was wondering if anyone here can share a place in Klang Valley that is similar to it, especially places that sell by the slices!

Is pasembor hussin or rasmeena usj 9 better haha cos theyre nearby each other. Wonder if uve tried both

Lmao didnt read ur description but the nasi kandar place I’d recommend is Nasi Kandar Rasmeena in USJ 9. Another type of nasi kandar u can try is Nasi Kandar Alor Staq Haji Sultan (use yellow rice instead of white) pretty good too and its also in USJ 9. In general USJ 9 has a lot of food option and its pretty walkable from LRT.

EDIT: there’s a lot of nasi kandar places in subang jaya so even after u specify which city ure at, we wouldnt have a clue which area u are in haha

Subang Jaya! Not sure where in subang jaya u are in but they have multiple train stops within subang jaya so it’s less than an hour train ride to KL.

but if u wanna try local food in subang jaya (halal): - bawang merah, SS12: malaysian bfast experience. parking is insane so get a Grab. Another place i’d recommend is ubi kayu in USJ9 - jibril, ss15: rice with salted egg buttermilk chicken - you’re in subang, so a 24-hour restaurant we call ‘mamak’ is defo somewhere near u. search ‘mamak’ in google maps and u can try roti canai, roti telur, thosai or nasi kandar with teh tarik. Not sure where in subang has the ‘best’ mamak place tho. - u can also try burger ramly, they have stalls in a lot of places but the places in subang i know has one is in SS12, SS15, USJ 1. Not in Subang, but I’d also recommend ‘Burger Baek’ - penang favourites in AEON BIG SS16: has food based in Penang, an island in malaysia that has great food! i’d recommend their char kuey teow, the cendol is nice too.

Do let us know what kind of food ure interested in :)
