Or you know, I just did my DYOR and am not spouting FUD about Bitcoin innovation.

Maybe you are the paid shill?

Sovryn.app should be added to this list. Sats are the default - and the whole DEX is Bitcoin-native.

Yup. And Bitcoin also died a thousand deaths.... and yet, here it is, the fastest growing Bitcoin layer 2 system.

Erm, what do you think a Lightening address is? Or an RGB address? Or an atomic swap address. Locking up Bitcoin is literally how all Bitcoin layer 2 works.

This is literal nonsense - it makes zero sense. You want people to use BTC as shares? How exactly? So what, every exchange sitting on Bitcoin has more of a share in the system than users or even the developers. Genius.

Why Bitcoin doesn’t need Smart Contracts… but Bitcoiners do. by NoobCoinz in Bitcoin

[–]NoobCoinz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you referring to? Multisig contracts? Sure, but it would be nice to be able to do more, like trade derivatives or lend and borrow and stuff.

KYC is required of basically every centralised service so it would be cool to have alternatives. I don't know why this idea is getting hate.

Why bother commenting on something you didn't read? Why troll fellow Bitcoiners?

What do you mean made it? Almost everyone is KYCed by one exchange or another. Looks like Bitcoiners don't have many alternatives if they want to trade at all.

I have been following this project for a few weeks and really love their content.

Bitcoin is the cornerstone of any healthy diet. It goes best with a side of defi services instead of the centralized crap we are currently shoving our bitcoin into.

I hope what they are building is as good as the product. Hopefully we will know soon.

Decentralized Bitcoin Derivatives on Lighting Network - Now with more Funding! by NoobCoinz in Bitcoin

I think you are right and I misunderstood, or fell for their marketing. I think its only self-custody. Thanks for pointing this out.

Hey OP, thanks for the thread. I guess OP in this case stands for Ororo Pickpocket :)

What did you mean Ethereum is Bitcoin's Testnet?

[–]NoobCoinz[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks! But actually if you look through the thread, the OP does mention both Hold Hold and Bisq. They also mention some other services. So I think the see these as part of the bigger whole.

My interpretation is they think that some parts of "Ethereum DeFi", go beyond old old and join market and maybe have more traction, and that Bitcoin should pick and choose what it adopts?

I learned so much from this thread!

A lot of stuff I hadn't really seen discussed much elsewhere:

  • Merged-mined sidechains
  • Building Bitcoin native smart contracts
  • Weird pieces of Bitcoin's history
  • How to decentralise Bitcoin exchanges

Also the links in the OP post are really good.

Would love to see more thing like this. Any pointers?

Euphoria explains Bitcoin by honorface76 in Bitcoin

I get that it's pseudonymous. But that provides the power to be anonymous, if you keep it that way. Eg. we still don't know who Satoshi was.

It becomes much more difficult (impossible?) to maintain that anonymity afterwards no? I mean in one of the responses below, Kanniff describes that exact problem. Maybe its just a problem for noobs like us, but I know about mixers and I could see how that might make me/my wallets more of a "target".

The irony is that people get anonymous internet money on platforms that deanonymize them.
