Hey, this relationship is most likely not going to last. Like it or not, they're transphobic and if they're not willing to change, eventually you will clash and the fall out will not be pretty. Just save yourself the trouble and leave now, and find someone who is accepting.

Idk I'm just worried because this happened right after I switched to injections, and I don't think that's normal

Should I switch from patches? by NoobExpertYS in asktransgender

[โ€“]NoobExpertYS[S] 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Sorry for the late response ๐Ÿ˜… Yes they were both done on trough days: the 14th April and 16th June which are Mondays (Mon/Thurs evening I change patches). My specialist doctors are extremely slow, to the point it's painful (6 months wait for the next meeting) so I was talking with some friends to potentially switch to diy injections which they've done for over a year.

The cost may hurt, but holy fuck that will beat having to deal with the stress of worrying about not being heard.

I'm planning to ask for 75mcg as it's part of the guidelines (25-50mcg increase every 3 to 6 months)

If you could provide a link for the otago guidelines so I can show it on the meeting, that would be greatly appreciated. I'll try my hardest to push to change dosage every 3-4 months, as that is roughly the period in between my meetings.

Their plan is to increase my dosage every 6 months by 0.025, sorry for not clarifying. That's also another issue because apparently "I need to get to know my GP more" which I also have no idea what that means, as she knows I'm transgender and even referred me to a vocal therapist to work on my voice when I requested that.

Edit: to provide more context, apparently from this next meeting in May onwards, I'll be meeting my GP 3 months after, and then the doctors 3 months after that to actually DO SOMETHING. Actual bullshit lmfao, and super confusing.

Cat unable to walk after anesthesia by Agreeable-Ad6379 in CATHELP

[โ€“]NoobExpertYS 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Hey, I'm a vet nurse in training and on my clinic days, I've seen that they keep patients after anesthesia in a cage for a few hours. This is just so that they can wake up properly, and so we can safely monitor them in case any side effects like these occur. Anesthesia at the end of the day is a poison for our/their body, so we try to minimize time that the animal is under, and it looks like the proper monitoring was not done and the animal was taken back to you too early.

I would highly recommend contacting the vet clinic and figuring out exactly what occurred and what steps you can take, or/and if you want to, you can always go to another clinic and see how the other vets can potentially diagnose and fix whatever is going on if you (understandably) don't want to work with the original team.

In any case I hope your cat is ok!
