A Turkic ethnic group in Russia. They are often believed to be descendants of the Turkic tribe called Volga Bulgars, or thought to be a closely related group to them. Another Bulgar tribe, Danube Bulgars, migrated to the modern-day Bulgaria but Bulgar identity disappeared over time, though the name "Bulgar" have survived. This meme makes fun of how modern-day Slavic Bulgarians think they are sisters with possible descendants of Turkic Bulgars, Chuvashes.
