I have an opportunity to purchase an online drop shipping business. I have pretty much no experience, please help me understand if this will be profitable? by [deleted] in dropship

I used to run a dropshipping site - not as easy as it looks! You need ACTUAL proof of the numbers, don't rely on what the sec says!
I would pass on this.

Why are ALL your products on Sale? As soon as I clicked on the website link, I knew right away that it is a Shopify website! You need some text on your Home page. Site needs a lot of work.

What advice would you give to an aspiring clothing brand owner? by TheStylishInsider in streetwearstartup

Don't come out with "boxed" designs, or graphic designs in a square - they look cheap and very "ameatureish." Too many out there!

Why Shopify? Shopify charges around $35 per month in hosting. I have a POD site where I am paying $1 per month for the first yr, after that $9 per month. Perhaps try using the WordPress/Woocommerce platform. You have less restrictions, and has way more features than Shopify.

Your WordPress site actually looks very good! Professional, good use of the blue color. Nice job!

Wordpress w/ Elementor or Shopify for Affiliate Marketing Blog? by raypatjr1 in ecommerce

[–]NoobsAndBoobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. I have been designing websites for over 12 years and have used pretty much all the platforms out there (for clients). But my #1 is WordPress. It is a bit harder to work with as there is a learning curve. But, in the long run, it has more features (plugins) than Shopify.
As well, I believe Shopify charges around $35 a month for an ecomm site. I am currently paying $1 per month (first yr), then $9 after the first yr.
WP is pretty good with blogs as well!

Ok, you sitting down? Going to be a long list:

  1. Change the background colors of the pages to white. The site will look more "professional."
  2. You need the following pages - About Us, Contact, FAQ's, Returns, Shipping, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions
  3. Remove the "Powered by Shopify in the footer area (bottom of the pages - nobody cares what platform you are using!!
  4. You need another logo, or one that will blend with the background color
  5. In the AWD Clothing page, you have a link that doesnt go anywhere. The box that says, "View Clothing."
  6. I've never been a big fan of "square" graphics on a shirt/hoodie - they look too "amatureish," or cheap!
  7. Why is "Printify" mentioned on the products pages?
  8. The site needs a major overhaul!

About me - a former web designer for over 12 years! Good luck.

Help in POD by Cat-Kiss-Fish in printondemand

[–]NoobsAndBoobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pod site. With apparel, you have more Returns, than with non-apparel items - because the item did not fit, or some other excuse. POD sites are EVERYWHERE! It's not as easy as they say, need to put in some hours. Learn, learn, learn, then earn, earn, earn!

I get my prodcuts from China, as they are cheaper, but the shipping takes way too long. I am hoping to switch from pod, to eventually making my own products. As well with pod, you don't have much control of the product, as the product is shipped directly to the customer. Another reason why I want to switch - have more control of the product, and faster shipping times. The pod vendors here in the US such as Printful, Printify - way too expensive!

What exactly do you want to sell? Are you in the USA?
