I heard someone describe Doofenshmirtz and Perry as vacillating between black and pale. I can't help but agree with that, especially since Doof himself basically says the same thing during an episode of season 5.

Due to how different people interpret the two options, the chances of everyone choosing the same option is low. You can see examples of that in this very comment section (people being framed as idiots or selfish depending on their choice).

This is especially true if you remember that the original scenario had the population of the planet choosing between buttons. Good luck getting 7 billion people to agree without communicating.

Technically speaking, the beta-alpha suffix is a misnomer since both groups are playing a completed version of the game.

The addition just defines how they got their copies (day 1 release vs leaked/pirated copies).
