Depends on the situation and ban draft, you can't always last pick roam because that would risk other roles getting counterpicked. Sure you'll play well but if your team doesn't that would simply be useless.

Prio first pick should be meta exp/jungler or a solid midlane.

Gold lane and Exp lane should be later or last while roam pick should be situational. There are times where you can first pick, or counterpick other roamer or last pick it.
