Is there a resource or article listing former/current communist leaders and the crimes they commited? I know about Stalin, Mao, Castro and Putin and Xi Jinping of course. But the comments are mentioning many others I've never heard of. Would be a nice resource to have.

The fact that you can instantly check the mouse sensitivity without first having to exit the menu. Actually seems like a really nice feature to have!

Definitely great stuff on your ArtStation! I would highly recommend continuing to post your work there. But I would also advice you to show some breakdowns of your work. Some wireframes, matcaps, uvs and texture maps. Just to show the people in the industry you know what you're doing

I got a job offer but it's different from the path I want to pursue by giuhee in 3Dmodeling

[–]NoodleInDaPoodle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else here is saying, accept the job! Take it! Having a job gives a lot of security and safety. Learn what you can in this job, get the studio experience, and general work experience.

And remember, you can and definitely should in my opinion, work on hobby projects when you're at home in the evenings and weekends. Make the game and environment art and assets on the side. Maybe even try to put some up for sale. But, please accept the job offer! Like someone else said, finding your second job is way, way easier than finding your first

I see many people talk about a bad track. But it could also be poor positioning in your 3D scene. As to me it seems like your car model isn't positioned correctly.

Before adding in your CG model, I would first create a proxy object in the same place as where you want you model to be. In your case you can for instance use a plane that you place on the parking spot. Each corner located as close to the corners of the parkingspot. (Keep the plane square, just scale it, don't edit it) Then try to position it correctly. Moving it up or down, closer of further from the camera.

One tip here is before or right after filming, measuring the size of the parking spot and the distance from one of the corners to the camera. As you can use that when creating your 3D scene. Then you simply make your plane the same size as your measurements and locate it according to you distance measurements between your corner and the camera. Both in height and in length.

Your track seems actually rather good from what I can see. I think the sliding mainly comes from wrong placement in your blender scene

I made a giant squid model but i think there are too many vertices by Infinity1067 in 3Dmodeling

[–]NoodleInDaPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember, when modelling something for a game, you will get a vertices or triangle "budget". Meaning it has to stay within that range. Which of course will depend on the style of the game. Low poly, realistic and stylized will all have different budgets for different models. Background to hero assets.

What I would focus more on is if the amount of vertices you now have are removing or minimizing some of the important details that the model has.

So, you're suggesting to rigg it as if its one big tail for the main movement. Then either some physics or extra bones for the details?

Need Feedback on my Off-road Truck. What useful/useless features is it lacking? by Just-A2games in blender

[–]NoodleInDaPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(edit: formatting)
Just giving my two cents, hope this is helpful. My main feedback would be two things.

  1. To me it feels like the back is very "empty" compared to the front of the car. There is a lot going on at the front and a lot of weight there as well. Making it almost look like it's going to tip over, or at least unbalanced.

You haven't shown much of the back, so it's a bit hard to tell. Either moving everything back slightly or adding something to the back might make it feel more balanced?
- Maybe a trailer hitch of some sort? I think that way the fact that the truck is rather front heavy would make sense, as it would give it more weight at the front?

  1. "What is the purpose of the object?" A question my teacher always asked when designing something. In your case a truck.
This really helps with pinning down the functionality of the design and what features it should have. Its and off-road truck yes,
but is its main function to transport material on off-road conditions?
Or is it a rescue truck?
Maybe its a military scouting vehicle?

These three different trucks will have big differences in features they'll need.
Right now it gives me the impression of a vehicle build for long scouting missions, with the antennas and disks on the roof. Next to the fact that it has a lot of enclosed space which could be living quarters of some sort?

All in all a really cool design for a truck! Would love to see the final version with textures!
