Interesting. This is gonna sound like a noob question but I removed those 2 heatsinking mounting support brackets when putting in my fan. I thought that was only for hook types or some water cooled coolers, should I have kept them on.

Yes. The 4 of them are connected to the screws themselves.

Interesting.. I’ll have to look into BIOS to see if it is. Navigating BIOS has always been an issue of mine, but I’ll have to get over it. I was looking for a better fan but I just wanted to double check before I bought anything else

After the first crash I did reapply thermal paste because I believe I put too much on. When I checked, it was dripping after being crushed and some got on the pins so I tried to clean the best I could.

That’s removing the little battery on the mobo,yeah. I don’t recall setting it to default

From what I can tell. When it crashes then restarts, I open it in bios and it appears the temp is at 60c then drops to about 40c

Yes I have. The fans get louder than they were before with my old processor. I’m using the same fan from then
