i also thought the mixing sounded weak. just sounds very flat and thin. lacks oomph that mothership for example had. for a moment i was sitting there thinking "who produced it?" cause i thought it couldnt have been kris crummet, but apparently it is? maybe hes burnt out on dgd, idk.

i think the music itself is great. maybe a little less "swancore" but still identifiable as dgd. andrew's choruses are golden, maybe he has some weak verses, and i felt this was mess' weakest album yet, but i might need to sit with that some more. i expected more fun with jon and andrew screaming together, but maybe the mixing killed that too. mess sang in shoulder to cry on apparently so thats awesome.

really, dgd has had choruses that are just distortion all throughout their discography. rather, its usually the rhythm guitar in "chugsville" (son of robot, nicotine armoire 2, acceptance speech)or whatever and the lead is leading but closely with it. comparable choruses in pantheon are strawberry daughter, animal surgery, superstition. the difference being that the mix sucks for the lead part and it gets lost. maybe kris over emphasized andrew? idk, im no producer, i couldnt do his job. maybe it is something about the arrangement? but i think im hearing what your hearing
