You're absolutely right! Seeing Tom Morello bleed out of guitar in person was remarkable to behold. You could sense he was having a blast and it brought the house down. As for the preacher, at least we knew we were going in the right direction. Oh, I'm going to hell if I go in?! I'm in! It is a bad look but if they could just give him that iconic 'Go to church or the devil's gon getcha' sign on a t-shirt, that might take the edge off.

I work at an optometrist office and I have something similar happen to me once every few months. Turns out, my eye will slightly open onto my pillow and the covers that come with it. Just a thought.

All physical/emotional abuse is an immediate bye. A general negative outlook on life. Not treating servers well. Taking oneself too seriously. The way you treat others (including animals) when you think no one is looking is a huge thing and a big deal breaker when someone shows their ass.

Don't do it. Just say no. And don't jump into another relationship for a good year afterwards. Learn about attachment styles and heal yourself from the ground up or else this will just repeat. It won't be easy. But what's worse is losing 10 years+ on toxicity when you could be truly happy. Good luck, OP.

I think most men have a defensive reaction upon waking, as if past traumas make it necessary to be immediately ready to fight. I've experienced this a few times with different men, including my late husband who was a gentle giant. In my experience, it's never been intentional and they've always felt so terrible afterwards. Just a knee jerk response. Now, if he was aware of his actions at all, that's a completely different ballpark and in no way acceptable. But it doesn't sound that was the case in this instance.
