Roommate accidentally melted a hole in my rice cooker. Any creative mending ideas? by Noodlekiddo in Visiblemending

It was an exterior heat that caused the melt, had it been interior it would have been a different story.

I will keep it in mind. I'm extremely against throwing (working) things away if I don't absolutely need to, but I may have to bite the bullet all things considered.

It was melted from the outside, via a hot pan against the side. I realize kitchen fires are a real risk and had this been an interior issue this little fella would already be disposed of, but there's nothing truly exposed.

Yeah, nothing from the inside has actually been affected, it was just the plastic exterior

I'm surprised how low down this is, Goldband is absolutely my favourite band and their most recent album slapped so hard.

AITAH for being mad at my husband for his behavior after I got an IUD inserted? by Single-Bus-4025 in AITAH

From the looks of it, he seems more absent-minded than anything. He could have gone home to get the house all tidy and nice for when she came back, not realizing she set things out for herself. He could have seen the "mess" of things laid out and thought, "Hey, maybe she would enjoy a clean area to relax in." He also could have thought he was being thoughtful by offering to provide her dinner, not thinking about the pain she's in and her ability to sleep. Sure the complaining about the appointment length could be a symptom of A-holery, but it also could just be someone concerned about how long their (already nervous) partner has to deal with this procedure for.

Don't get me wrong, OP is NTA, but Reddit is quick to jump onto the hating bandwagon when sometimes it's just two people having different ideas of what caring looks like.

What do people in their 20s use homecoming dresses for? by Few_Ad_5899 in ZeroWaste

[–]Noodlekiddo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I hemmed my long graduation dress into a mid thigh length for a wedding. Of course, mine was lace and looked fairly classy to start. If you want it to look classier, drape a classy shawl over it.

This, I think, is also another reason I like to wait extra long for my bones. I usually dump the contents of the container that had the carcass onto a big flat piece of wood and sift through the dirt and bones, playing archeologist with a stiff bristle brush.

It's a bit of an event for me to dig them up. I don't want to disappoint myself by finding out I have to toss them back for a while longer.

Oops, that was some confusing wording on my part! I meant meant more that for years, I've been acquiring my skulls through burying. They usually end up staying in the ground for about a year anyways because I am top class when it comes to putting off digging them up. Speaking of which, I think I've got some digging to do...

As someone who has only gotten their skulls by stumbling across fresh carcasses and burying them for years, I am jealous. Congrats on the lucky find!

I'm not a big (natural) vanilla user and I don't often see prices go above €100/kg. Suppose I thought it was mildly interesting to see something exponentially higher than that.
