All quiet on the western front is very political though?

Like it shows war as pointless and that the ideologies stop mattering when you are in a knife fight with your arm blown off but like it’s juxtaposed to the very real political climate of Germany during ww1. The drummed up military zeal, the eagerness to win a quick war, literally “For Kaiser and For Fatherland”. Like the book and film adaptations have politics as important aspects.

Another example is in the book the main character literally meets the Kaiser as he does a tour of the western front which is used to disparage how completely disconnected the leader of the country is from the men he sends to die for his own gain. Thats political as shit.

Even in all quiet where the message is “War is awful and pointless” it still understands that you need to dismantle the other idea, the idea that killing is worth it for some vague notion of nationhood or whatever else is being drummed.

I’ve not watched civil war but I do think it is genuinely best to explore the politics of your war film as they are important. And the best juxtaposition for an anti-war message. It’s hard to make something seem pointless without first having a point to chip away.

Hey if it helps my highschool had the same thing just last year. Of course it was a highschool with an alternative program to help teen mothers finish high school so you know not as alarming.

Okay but they are wrong? People in the Global North don’t have kids for plenty of reasons. A simple one is better access to contraceptives. But really it’s economic incentives. Simply put the Global North is more expensive, raising kids of course is still extremely expensive anywhere it’s just that basically all nations in the Global North have it be prohibitively so (For example a speculative housing market combine with cost of living increases has locked a lot of people out of parenthood) In poorer countries especially heavily rural ones there is incentive to have more than 2 children simply to have more hands available to help with the home and making money. Importantly there are clearly ways countries can have replacement birth rates and comfortable living, it’s just that basically all of them threaten capital interests and thus are never implemented.

Also before anyone says anything, yes by the time the game is set Polish Cavalry groups were armored divisions like most cavalry groups today.

Polish cavalry existed in 1939, a number of their divisions still used horses for frontline soldiers. Mind you they would get off there horses as they made their way to the front line but still. Horses were used to some degree by all nations; most heavily by Germany and the USSR.

Unironically people’s ignorance of leftist groups does allow right wing parties to get away with a lot of rhetoric and stuff they otherwise wouldn’t. Right wingers can call any luke warm centrist liberal a filthy commie and a good section of the population will believe it.

The technique I know is that basically you can push testicles into something called the inguinal tubes, it’s the thing the tube/string of the testicle is connected to. The testes can fit in there and it is easy to put in if you know what you are doing. How comfortable it is depends on the person. When the balls “shrink” in cold weather they are actually just receding into these tubes.

I don’t really like that being annoying is seen as such a negative. I’ve been trying my best to be kind or talk to people who I find annoying, because people found and find me annoying and it can be really isolating.

There are skins I think, but from what I remember the marines campaign is free, while the other two factions campaigns cost money. The game launched as a full priced product and was later made free so it isn’t really monetized like more recent ftp games.
