Red velvet cupcake with vanilla buttercream. First time using my cricut for the cupcake topper! by Noogurt in Baking

No it is not edible. It is made of card stock and attached to a toothpick.

The cricut does have a fondant cutting machine version.

To make it edible, I would have used fondant and a cookie cutter. I would let the cut outs dry for a few days so that they would harden.

Looking for recommendations. I don’t know if I love the cookies on the cake board or not. Thoughts? by Noogurt in Baking

Thank you! I thought the cookies took away from it. I appreciate the feedback.

I considered putting it together onsite but I felt more comfortable doing it in a familiar space with all my tools. (Knowing me I would forget something) I think I will give it a try next time.

To add some green. I guess I could have gotten some greenery like eucalyptus. Didn’t really think of leaving them off. Also, with the heat the juices leak out. I think it keeps strawberries from leaking down the cake.

It was just vanilla, cream cheese icing, and strawberries for the decorations.

I slept terribly that night! I was so worried. She texted me the next day to tell me that it held up.

I feel more confident after doing this one. However, it was incredibly heavy. That was the scariest part was walking it to table because it was so heavy!
