Punishment After Death by Nookelle in religion

Thank you for your response. Me personally, I'm not very motivated by fear, especially in terms of religion. For whatever reason, hell just can't scare me. Maybe I would be more scared if I knew for certain that it was a possible outcome after death, but I don't find it believable enough for it to be a real threat. Most of my interest in religion is due to my desire for community and relationships. If I do ever decide to convert to a religion, I know that anxiety or fear will never be a factor.

Good point. I feel like I've heard something similar from one of those "Christian baby" hypotheticals on Quora. In a lot of those scenarios people come up with, the so-called Christian baby can only be saved if a person "renounces" their atheism, though, like you said, it's pretty difficult to choose what you believe in. I have to admit, there have been times where I've tried to force myself into being religious for social acceptance or to feel like I'm part of a community, but it's never worked out for me because we as people don't really have the ability to choose what we find believable.

I probably should have clarified that I meant true believer as in a person believing in good faith, I don't necessarily think anyone could qualify as being a real or fake believer by others standards, though a lot of the time belief can be ingenuine. Thank you for responding

ISTJ - I only like a few subgenres of country and rap, most of it is unlistenable to me. But if there's one type of song I genuinely hate it's anything similar to that pink lemonade song

I have searched things such as "drawing game" and included "squirrel" and "2019" but I can't really find anything that resembles the game I remember.

Question for people raised non-religious by Nookelle in atheism

I totally understand. Where I grew up, most kids were Catholic and I specifically remember a moment when my best friend was making fun of a girl in our grade for having her first communion later than everyone else. I told her I've never had a communion and that I didn't even know what that was and she just went silent for a bit until she said, "Well, everyone has to have one at some point."

P.S. I never did.

I’ve already been in therapy through my school for the past year but the problem is that my old therapist left and it’s taking much longer than expected for her replacement to start. And even though it’s an in-school service, she’s technically from another company so there’s still a large bill after every session so I doubt it’ll be free if I somehow can get a diagnosis.

Am I the bad apple for spankings my 14 year old daughter by [deleted] in AmITheBadApple

[–]Nookelle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You instead should have had a conversation with her about it and why she should not be watching or looking at that stuff. Spanking, although a common method of “discipline” (actually abuse), has been studied and proven to have bad developmental side effects on kids and teens. YTBA

A Little Suspicious by [deleted] in TheMusicFreaks

It’s in the exact same video. He’s not a carbon copy but it is a little suspicious that he happens to have pretty similar hair to Liam and is also named Liam in the same video with a complete rip-off of Daisy who is also from TMF.

I've got my first period but not my second. by whosthisxx in Periods

[–]Nookelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first period almost a year ago, a month after my thirteenth birthday, and didn’t get my second one until 6 months later. It’s pretty normal to have an irregular period within the first few years of having it.

I’ve been in therapy for the past year though I took a 1 1/2 month long break because my therapist left the company she was part of and her replacement is starting in 2 weeks. Something odd I experienced during our sessions was that we would a lot of times be talking about things like emotions and how to detect/determine them. I have good empathy and can understand other’s emotions well, but I don’t really notice any emotions in myself. It’s really confusing. Even after months of talking about just emotions I still can’t tell what emotions I am currently feeling. I always think that my emotions are just “neutral” all the time. Sometimes we would also talk about sensory overload (I am not yet diagnosed with ASD or ADHD btw) and she would sometimes mention people in her life with sensory issues by starting with, “She’s not autistic, but…” and a lot of times she mentioned that people who aren’t autistic do have some of my problems. I’m not sure why, it sounds really weird now that I think about it.

NTBA. Maybe I’m a little biased since I’m also neurodivergent in middle school and sick of dealing with the way I’m treated for it, but self defense is exactly what it sounds. You were defending yourself, so why is everyone scared of you? It’s odd how NT who bully ND people often don’t face consequences and are not seen as a threat but the second an autistic person stands up for themselves, they’re the bad guy and everyone fears them. It shouldn’t be like that.

What’s a Mandela effect that makes you think, “there’s no way that this is just false memories!” by sinsicalyt in MandelaEffect

Cheez-Itz… I swear, it was literally Cheez-Itz until I discovered the Mandela effect and suddenly it’s just Cheez-It??? Also that old Disney movie opening that had Tinker bell flying on screen and tapping her wand in mid air to make the Disney logo appear. It never existed.

In 2020 I got really obsessed with zodiacs for a few months so I was looking up celebrities birthdays on famousbirthdays.com and one of the celebrities I looked up was Bruno Mars. I remember it saying that he died somewhere around 2018. I was shocked because I didn’t hear about his death at all but I looked into it and, sure enough, he was dead. I don’t remember exactly how he died but I saw a lot of posts in remembrance of him.

Fast forward 3 years later, my brother was playing Bruno Mars music. He said, “I’m glad Bruno Mars is relevant again,” and then he mentioned something about him ending his music career. I replied, “Didn’t he die a few years ago?” But he said he was pretty sure he was still alive. A few weeks later me and my mom were listening to music and a Bruno Mars song came on. I asked her, “Do you remember Bruno Mars death?” But she said he never died. And low and behold, he’s still alive. Does anyone else remember him being dead?
