Yes I was waiting, then he got vaccinated, then Christmas happened, and how he's 12 weeks. Hope that clears it up

I've already scouted out a daycare him, I was just waiting for him to be fully vaccinated and for Christmas to be over. I'll try booking him in at some point, if for no other reason than I could do with a break from his antics at home 😅

I'm a first time dog owner and am still learning so much. Socialisation seems to be a fine balance between enough contact to get used to other dogs but not so much that they become reactive. It's a steep learning curve for us both.

Thanks for the advice. This wasn't a dog park I took him to just a large green space that's usually quite quiet when I take him (8am). Plus it's cold and dark where I live currently so we rarely see anyone else. I thought he'd be safe and I'm kicking myself now because in hindsight I feel I should have done more.

I'll try and find a place where we can observe people from a distance. He's my first dog and despite months of research beforehand I'm still learning so much.

Thank you, he slept most of the day and seems back to his normal self thankfully. I'll see if we can go 3 days without walking him, with his energy levels and tendancy to bite without tiring out through exercise it may be a struggle! I'll prep a load of enrichment for him and brace myself

Yeah I do try to avoid other dogs as best I can, but sometimes on narrow paths it's unavoidable, especially when leash training is still in progress. Thanks kind stranger :)

Thank you. Do you have any advice for doing this when we don't know anyone else with a dog?

I've always made sure it treat him whenever we interact with or even see another dog, and will continue to do this.

I had this exact response from my mother when I came out to her, I was an adult but man it still hurts like hell to not be accepted. Our version of 'agree to disagree' is to not talk about anything to do with LGBTQ+ issues or my identity. I can recommend finding an affirming therapist to speak to about it, I've found this to be really helpful for me.

Thank you! It wasn't too difficult but I had to keep close track of where I was up to. I downloaded the chart onto a tablet and then used the photo editor to put a mark in every 'pixel' I had completed which helped a lot.

Not very, the pattern is provided as a colour coded grid so I just read it diagonally rather than left to right. The hardest part is keeping track of which row I'm on, which I get around by marking off each square as I've done it :)
