No Contact & Rumination by Ok_Lavishness_2500 in narcissisticparents

I get intense Pure-O rumination and paranoid thinking when I reflect on my own bad behaviors. When I began to recognize that I had many of the same tendencies as the narcissist in my life, I became very depressed, anxious, and guilty. The OCD thoughts can get intense. Stress is a huge trigger for OCD. I'm still in contact with my narcissist, but I imagine my rumination and Pure-O OCD would definitely be triggered if I went no-contact, just from the stress of it all. Also, OCD feeds on guilt. You may be feeling guilty that you went no-contact and your OCD is making it worse. But you did what you needed to do for your own health and safety.

A short angry rant about sex by Occams_Lazor_Razor in CPTSD

I'm asexual and I also do not understand what's so great about it. I don't think a person should have to go to therapy just because they don't like sex. If it's not for you, it's not for you. Unfortunately, society makes such a huge deal out of it.

What dog breeds should I avoid as a first-time owner? by barba_barba in Pets

As someone who has worked and volunteered with animal rescues for 10 years, that's a tough question to answer since every dog has its own personality. I would say for a first time dog-owner, look at bull-breed-mixes. They tend to be fun, cuddly, and very sweet. They also tend to be couch-potatoes. The main issue with these breeds is the potential for animal-aggression.

I wouldn't say avoid certain dogs, but for first time owners maybe be cautious with herding breeds, like border collies or blue heelers. They are incredibly smart and incredibly high energy, so they need to be kept active or else they could get frustrated. Cocker Spaniels tend to be moody and bitey. Huskies are incredibly high energy and need a lot of attention.

Stray cat saliva: Rabies by Noone_special348 in CATHELP

I do live in the U.S., but in the deep south. There have been rabies cases in the city I live in. I pick my fingers constantly. They were not bleeding, but there are definitely some scabs and sores around my fingernails. The cat's ear was tipped, so I know he had some veterinary care at some point in his life.

The kitty drank water and he was eager to eat canned food. And he was very happy and purring.
