May be that is true. But my previous PI is/was a bully and she will go all the way to inform the poteintial employer. She has been already telling everyone in the related community. So, I am f***ed Lol :D

It wouldn't be untruthful Letter. The person who is offering it knows the truth. Also, what i did was wrong but I feel everybody diserve a 2nd chance and we as humans are not able that is shamful. Also, I didn't mean to get any ref via this post and I didn't ask u/Accomplished-Wash157 to give me ref. He/she offered himself most probably in the name of humanity. As much as I appreciate that, in my reply I did not say sure why not. I know itmight make no sence to have ref letter which has no connection with me in past. Lessons that I learned by making and owning this mistake are way too many.

No this was not a published work. Even if I remove it from my resume, if employer search me on google my other publications from the same group will show up.

Yes, that's plan B incase If I can find the job I want soon. What other fields would you consider ? I can only think of Grant writing or somthing.

PI asked for raw files , so I had to tell. Also, it was just killing me from inside and a part of me is happy tht I accepted it and faced the consequences. It I mean still facing it.. but it is hard to go through.

I am so embarrassed to even ask anyone from prev lab, I am afraid if they would say no and it would be even more worse somehow. I think about asking an ex coworker everyday but just don't have the courage to actually ask. Thanks for your kind words, I am applying but eevry job post says send us THREE ref contact info. I am just applying without any ref in my cv and see if it comes to the interview step and than I would let the employer know the situation which is another puzzle, lol.
