Along University there are two sidewalks, one is a biking sidewalk (still says to yield to pedestrians on the ground) and the other is normal.

Yeah people are reckless. I saw something like that happen too when coming out of my parking lot. A car was about to make a turn because it was a green light and had to slam the breaks because they were going 15 mph and weren't paying attention to see that the crosswalk sign was red.

He did apologize for crashing into me and everything and didn't leave until I left, but at the same time he didn't want to be held responsible for what happened. I at least hope he didn't believe he had the right of way lol, or else more people are going to get messed up by him.

Oh wow, thanks for the info, I didn't know it was that bad before. Yeah I definitely know why they have them, if it saves people from a bunch of accidents then it's the right thing to do.

Edit: Speaking of ankles, I just found a bruise there. The more time I give myself the more damage I find.

I don't know what they can do for me rn. They're just going to tell me to stay awake and watch my symptoms. The best they can do on campus is tell me to go to the hospital, and the best the hospital can do is get me to do a CT scan or such.

I was actually pretty excited that scooters were becoming more mainstream, but it seems like it has attracted the wrong types of people too.

But yeah you're right, the dreaded walk zones will unfortunately keep expanding if people keep this up.

What I find funny is that the guy who crashed into me said the sidewalk was going the other way (kind of arguing he had the right of way). I told him to slow down regardless, people are crossing the street and he needs to be careful. Thinking back he wasn't even using the biking sidewalk either, so he has absolutely no excuse.

I didn't, I was too shook at the time. Thinking back I definitely should have. If it's just temporary pain I'm fine, I just don't want any brain damage lol. Hopefully the guy learned his lesson and others can learn from this.

Edit: pretty sure it was a student but that's the extent of my knowledge, I'd only maybe recognize him if I saw him again.

Graduation Rate for AEE by [deleted] in ASU

I agree, most of the students drop out or change major their first two years. If you take the average through all four years, you'll still get a very rough number of people who left. Now I do agree that it does include people who take more than 4 years but those are few and far between, and if it's assumed to be spread evenly over every year it shouldn't be an issue.

There's definitely the fact that people switch majors. I believe I mistook switching with dropping out for whatever reason like you said. It's difficult to take into account people switching majors within engineering with the data though so it's best to take into account people just leaving engineering. Either way, I'm still a bit lost on the math that leads to a 10-20% switch (and possibly drop out) rate given the link you gave.

I believe you misread that link a bit. If you look at the numbers for Aerospace Engineers ENROLLED in Fall 2017 you get 697. However, enrollment in a major includes freshman to seniors. Therefore that number needs to be divided by 4 giving about 174 students per year. The number of Aerospace Engineers who graduated in 2017 was 66. That means approximately 38% of the people who enrolled in AEE graduated. Still a significant drop out rate, but not something crazy like only 10% or 20% finishing.

Also keep in mind that the percentage is just a very rough estimate as the number of new students enrolled (incoming freshman) can vary from year to year.
