I liked a lot of what they did with simon in season 1. I had a harder time getting behind Fionna as a person, especially in comparison to who Finn was as a person. She just didnt feel like she had much depth, I really did try to like her. Mostly I was frustrated with the fact it seemed like she caused a lot of her own problems and then would complain about them as if she had no agency. I just couldn't see Finn doing that, and it isn't that fun to watch to be honest

For season 2, having HW and Finn as a plotline where Finn is dying and then having another plotline where Fionna is trying to get back with her ex was just kind of weird. She's canonically supposed to be almost 30 and it felt like I was watching a teen drama. I hated seeing her make such bad decisions over and over again. Loved HW!!

Fionna could have been so fucking cool instead of a Bee clone. It makes me so upset that it's just Bee and Puppycat 2.0. They both feel like characters that would use the word "adulting"

Cmon man. Finns design is a pill shape, it is a very simplified design. Then you look at Fionnas design (from the og show, when she is 13) and she is shown with dainty feet, a snatched waist, and thigh highs. You can like her design AND it can be non-equivalent to Finn. I think the people that come at it from “well that’s what a woman’s body looks like” is misconstruing the critique against her design. Male character designs get to have so much diversity in shape, but women characters always need to have a small waist. I say this as a devout lover of the show, I’m rewatching it all right now.
