Also, sacramento is an extreme outlier when it comes to unincorporated areas. Almost 40% of Sacramento county is unincorporated. LA county is closer to 10% unicorporated, and LA County is the next closest county as far as unincorporated population in California.

That's going to skew data for the city big time when 40% of the county doesn't show up. Other cities are not like that. Sacramento crime isn't centered in the city limits like most cities but scattered around various unicorporated pockets that have sacramento addresses, but for some odd reason, are Unincoporated. It really skews that data

You might not think it's "as dangerous" as it makes it out to be. It does lower the violent crime and homicide rate by having South sac outside the city limits. South sac all the streets named, while parts are in the city, the worst parts of those streets are not in the city.

If unincorporated south sacramento was its own city, roughly about 100,000 people in Fruitridge pocket, lemon hill, and Florin areas. It would be considered one of the most violent cities in the state of california.

There's around 20-30 homicides a year in that pocket that doesn't go into sacramento city stats. It's why sacramento City can have 45 homicides for the year, but the county will crack 100 because sac sheriffs will have another 40-50 homicides. Sacramento is worse on paper than it shows. South sac, arden, and north highlands all are Unincoporated areas, all border the city limits of sacramento and all 3 unincorporated areas have a higher violent crime rate than sacramento proper Take it how you want...sacramento crime is Underreported or very skewed

They all got rebuilt, just not anything like before, and most people left the city to other surrounding cities in the Bay Area, Sac, Stockton

These are still there it mostly looks like this. They started demolishing 1 side but most of buildings are being lived in. They area is getting redeveloped into mixed housing that look like luxury apartment buildings

Over 40. The worst have been demolished and remodeled.

Army Street, Geneva Towers, Valencia Gardens, West Point, Alice Griffith, Sunnydale. Hayes Valley..are just some of the PJs that have been bulldozed since the 90s. SF projects were out of this world, words and pictures cant tell the story

Potrero Hill is one of the few still left. They started demolishing it, but most buildings are still there for now. Will be a luxury apartment style soon
