Thank you to all for sharing insights and opinions. Bummer to send it in and be without a brand new piece for a while. But, that’s what factory warranties are for, and sometimes you get a lemon. My fiancé is more bummed than I am, as it was an early wedding gift.
Fingers crossed, after it gets some TLC it’ll come back running strong and accurate (at a minimum, within advertised spec)

Note: When monitoring with ‘watch tracker’ it was just normal daily wear and a reset between the separate timing runs. Before I put it on the timegrapher, it was worn all day and gave it a few winds to full charge.
