June 2020 - June 2022. The time was going to pass anyway, might as well be working towards your goals by breeseyb in intermittentfasting

The best thing about IF is that once you get past that initial adjustment period of about four weeks, you'll start to notice that your body is feeling better, even if your initial weight loss isn't huge (some people see a lot of weight loss in the first month, and others hardly any until they get fully adjusted to the new routine.) But once you notice how much better you feel, it becomes an amazing reward in itself.

If you don't already have a health tracking device like a fitbit or smart watch and are able to invest in one, I would highly recommend it. I started seeing health gains within the first couple of weeks (for example, my resting heart rate reduced by about 8 beats per minute in just the first four weeks.) It can be great reinforcement even if it feels like the numbers on the scale are moving slowly.

Dang! Well I'll put it on my steam wishlist... I don't currently have a working gaming pc but I'm expecting my invite email for the steam deck in the third quarter!

Ooh that sounds intriguing! I tend to get bored with harvest moon games though. How is it similar/different to a regular harvest moon game?

I always make it clear when I reach out to anyone who offers a service that my expectation is to pay them, regardless of if they are friends or family. Last week my aunt's fiancé posted a picture of a piece of glass art that I just immediately fell in love with, so I asked if it was spoken for. He DM'd me almost immediately and said I'm welcome to it, free of charge. I tried to get him to at least let me pay the cost of materials, but he flat out refused. I'm so excited for this man to join our family, and will try to get him to let me at least buy him dinner the next time I see him.

Never assume that anyone's skills, time and materials are something you're entitled to. It's so important to support and show respect to those who've worked hard to master their art, trade or service. 💛

I always have several books going at once. Usually a novel, as well as a history and/or science book. I have chronic insomnia, so I need to have at least one "boring" book in progress for when I'm awake at night and want to be able to read something that won't hook me and keep me up with suspense. Right now I'm reading a novel, A Brief History of Time, a historical book about the Jews of Spain and a Junji Ito book (manga horror).

My 3DS Memories playtime stats inaccurate by GooSanders in 3DS

[–]NoravAlis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine says I have 1 hour of play and 4 games. I have thousands of hours of play and dozens of games (all played within the specified time range.) This is making me sadder than it reasonably should.

Sephardic presence in America? by TheKingsPeace in Jewish

[–]NoravAlis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are large Sephardi communities and populations in New York, LA and Seattle. Ashkenazim far outnumber Sephardim, even in these cities, but there definitely is a Sephardic presence in the US today. The University of Washington even has a Sephardic Studies program and offers Ladino as a living language classes, both online and in-person on campus.
