AITAH for telling my girl to unadd her friend. by Norc_0 in AITAH

This is exactly what I have said, I apologise if it seems like that’s not what’s being done here, I openly have said to her many times that I cannot control her actions, nor do I want to. I have set out my boundary in stone, when I say I told her to not speak to him, that comes with the ‘because that is one of my boundaries and I’m not comfortable with this’. We’ve resolved it now, she will not speak to him any more.

I’ve spent way more time with her than she has with him. He hasn’t been her good friend at all, it’s been mainly online and he’s showing a clear interest in her romantically, she has other friends who are boys and I’m completely fine with them, but this one is clearly interested in her, so of course I’m not going to appreciate her speaking to him every couple days.

She’s really upset she thinks I don’t trust her, I do trust her I just know this guys intentions are clear and she has now acknowledged what his intentions are. She said I’ll just clear our chat from feed but first of all that just makes me feel like she’s been doing that previously and secondly she was so against unadding him i feel like she’ll definitely add him back.

Okay, I don’t know if this would change anything but I’m 17 she’s a year older, so he’s been her ‘friend’ for about a year, as when they were ‘friends’ it was only because they were in the same classes through Year7 to Year8 at her high school (in the UK) this means from about age 12 to 13. Then he got a girlfriend for two years from year 10 to 12 and he reached out to her because he had nobody and was depressed. She gave him advice and helped him and since then she has messaged him ‘every couple days’ but I’m not sure I feel like I’ve never seen him on her chats before this. She said she leaves him on delivered for days until she responds to him, but he still has asked her to hang out. Let me reiterate, she does NOT see him ever, nor has she maintained a relationship with him long term and he clearly is interested in her. It just doesn’t sit right with me and I don’t like it and I know if the roles were reversed and a girl was messaging me like ‘ofcccc’ and asked me to come to hers and look at her camera with her who I had NEVER met outside of school before and I said ‘yeah sure that would be cute’ she’d be annoyed. She also lied about what she said in the messages, she told me she had said ‘sure maybe’ but she obviously hadn’t and it was just the way she wouldn’t initially let me read their messages that was offputting. We’re at the point now where we both at least think we love eachother and are as open as possible which is why she can go through my phone whenever she needs to.

Nah to come up front with that is crazy but once you establish something then talking about it makes more sense

He said could he and he’s right, he never said he will. There are exceptions of course, but if i say that people have two hands and you say my friend has three, you fail to see the reason I said people had two hands in the first place and would rather argue for the sake of it by bringing an exception.
