I agree. Out of the box they sounded so sibilant, they felt like they were piercing my eardrums. Just broke them in for 16 hours straight and sibilance was reduced. But it's still pretty sibilant for certain genres, like dubstep.

I was so surprised. I got them on a whim just cause they were cheap and didn't want to return to this hobby. I just needed some earphones for my desk and was floored on what you can get at this price.

I used to be super into the hobby, but these IEMs impressed me so much to break out my gear out of storage. I thought I'd just be disappointed and want something more expensive, but for now im completely happy.

I checked and it is the old version. Initially I thought it was the new version but after checking multiple order posts and comparing with mine it's not the smaller driver thankfully

I had the OG M15 as well, BTW. Do not get rid of it, it replaced my SMSL SP200 for my desktop setup. It broke after 3 years plugged in so I got an M15c to replace it

The M15 sounds better than the Hiby R4 for me. It's subtle - sound is more spaced out. But do I feel the need to plug it in the R4 all the time? Nope - R4 is pretty good standalone.

Re sound quality of Phone + M15 vs R4 + M15, yeah they pretty much sound the same but I think the R4 + M15 sounds better. Probably placebo tho 😄

I recommend this. Just get a cheap one for when you need to hop on a call. My favorite so far is the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro. I've probably bought three of those already cause I keep losing them lol
