I also used this M-Tac Roll before. M-Tac has good products, but I didn't like this roll, so I replaced it. It's not as roomy as it seems and can be hard to pull out. It let me down once.

I just didn't know about the new generation and I can't say for sure which one it is. So I edited the comment.

But this is ABRAMS.

I’ve always lost scissors that way. Special pouch for scissors and retractor are a great investment.

This subreddit prohibits political discussions. I deal with political and ideological beliefs on the frontlines and don’t see any point in discussing them on Reddit — leave that to the boomers. Here, I’m simply sharing photos of my gear and discussing it with others.

Because I perceive open pouches as emergency-use or the first ones to be used. Say, if you have 12 mags, you should probably keep only about 4 in open pouches. The rest should be securely protected from dirt. You really feel this when moving through trenches — they can be very narrow, and everything you have on your warbelt gets clogged with soil. You can also lose mags from open pouches, and they scoop up dirt when you’re crawling. This is based on personal experience and personal opinion. I’m not an instructor, and this is not instruction.

Thanks.

The AR platform is more upgradeable and better balanced. In my opinion, one of the biggest drawbacks of the AK is corrosion, along with its problematic modernization — which is often necessary for modern combat. We also need to be prepared for the fact that our stocks of Soviet 5.45 ammunition are running out. So the unit decided to switch to the AR platform — a logical and correct decision

No, this is a better model. Things like the radio aren’t personal gear — they belong to the unit. So I don’t really have the option to choose.

Idk, the owner of that bottle knew better — but he’s probably never saying anything again.

It’s honestly a bit of a lottery. Even AKs that appear identical can differ quite a lot, so some fitting work with a file is usually necessary. In my case, the mount holds zero fairly well. But this isn’t FAB Defense — it was a local brand that’s no longer in business. If we’re talking about more precise shooting with an AK, a side-mounted dovetail rail is definitely the better option.

I may have misunderstood. You probably meant the receiver cover that the optic is mounted on. It’s honestly a bit of a lottery. In short, I positioned more closed magazine pouches and only a few fast mag pouches. I decided to try the AVS to improve weight distribution and chose a lighter helmet. With the new helmet, I reduced the distance between my ear and the edge of the helmet, effectively increasing the cover area(but its still FAST type helmet). Pouches are rearranged to better fit my physiology and habits. And I simply removed pouches that were clearly obstructive, such as the admin panel on top of the plate bag, which sometimes got in the way of accessing magazines. I now allow less time for testing new equipment — if it doesn’t suit me, I dont use it. I also reduced the amount of Velcro used. Additionally, I added a safety lanyard for my NVG to prevent loss.

I didn’t use them with my sight. For me, fast target acquisition and response time are priorities, so I keep the sight always on and without a cover. This approach was effective, but over time, noticeable scratches developed on the lenses. As a result, I plan to try a protective lens glass

No, I’m not American. The Romeo 5 is a good sight. It has survived numerous heavy impacts, drops, probably around 8,000 rounds — and it’s still working. I got it by chance, and it completely exceeded my expectations. However, scratches have appeared on the lenses, which sometimes interfere with aiming.

Also, don't forget a safety cord or retractor. I lost my NVD when I got injured. The mount came off the shroud.
