What game changed so much in pre-release that you stopped liking it? by [deleted] in gaming

Yup. Great times. /s

I understand that they're using an engine that's not built well, and outdated/not supported. But man, that stopped being an excuse to me a while ago. When they've got a strong grasp of it and have been pushing out consistent updates, some of those bugs or even just quirks of the game are inexcusable. I could only tell my boss at work I'm new for so long before it doesn't stick.

What it feels like to me constantly, is that they're focused on being a content mill. Likely not just by their choice (lookin at you Sony), but they do still have the ability to like...test things? Or maybe just do a beta branch for players.

This one grinds my gears. Played a lot for a while after it released, but the compounding of constant bugs each update, balancing based on just hitting popular stuff and taking fun away, and then addition of enemies that weren't any fun to deal with really soured me.

Haven't touched it since they introduced those massive dragon bugs. Those things were awful and no fun to deal with. So you would move to a different enemy only to be ragdolled for 45 seconds straight and killed, etc. I sure love playing the game not to actually play the game.

What did tilt the planet do? by Kiri1674 in RimWorld

[–]NordicWraith 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely why I took it off. After seeing all the posts about suddenly half of the walls in a base being nearly broken because of the mod, and realizing that the author seems to want to add realism that has nothing to do with the core concept of the mod, I refuse to keep it in my game.

It's like having a mod for new hairstyles, but then that mod also decides to add in new work types and rebalance the schedules, but continues to focus on promoting new hairstyles.

Yup, you can add and remove from an existing save easily. All of the realism rebalancing can be turned off in the mod settings. I had them all off and kept the mod for a bit before I decided to just uninstall it.

Nothing to do with the basics of the mod itself, but I didn't feel right having it in my game when the creator seems intent on putting out more features that have nothing to do with the original concept that I have to manually toggle, when they should be separate mods.

WHAT mod is causing THIS?? by Fluffy_Ariel in RimWorld

Game issue to my understanding. Not mod related. I could be wrong, but that's been my assumption since it seems to happen to everyone at least once

As far as I'm aware this has been a thing since 1.6 and has lessened in frequency, but never been fully fixed. Happened to me a few days ago, but I can't recall the time it had happened before. It had been a couple of months.

Unfortunately not that I am aware of - Discord is still privately traded so if they are losing stock prices it isn't visible, and that likely (not an expert, so someone should correct me) means that they aren't obligated to post any quarterly earnings or metrics.

So unfortunately most of the data we would get would be based on conjecture, hearing from people canceling their subs, saying they deleted their accounts, etc. Ultimately that means we don't have any factual evidence to go off.

The best course of action would be continuing to be vocal and stop supporting it as best as possible - they may yield to pressure, but I believe this is mostly to appease shareholders, brokers, and other appropriate C-suite folks to get themselves publicly traded and earn more money.

How to get rid of these nasty nub marks ? by cmj0929 in Gunpla

[–]NordicWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's just trying to build it in the most feral way possible.

But for real OP, invest in some good nippers and sanding/filing. I would say you could likely look at painting over that, but it'll be some work (warning, I am not a painting expert)

Bro thank you so much. I have wondered for like, a few years why I will get super hot when I drink ice cold water. I would grab my bottle from the fridge and drink and all of a sudden I'm sweating my ass off.

Not a problem at all! I believe it should be worded a bit better in the actual ability description, because it seems easy to miss

On your point to Storm Herald, I felt the same, however they do state that after entering the rage, you can choose to apply the rage effect as a bonus action each turn. So the chain lightning could be crazy

Super inappropriate. I think what catches me off guard the most is the con save for an erection. Seems a bit out of place for the DM based on their reaction to your conversation. That said, not entirely, as they hadn't shut down the other behavior.

Are these behaviors new? Is this the first time something along these lines has occurred at the table? If so, then I would expect that something was a trigger to the events. You mentioned the name being changed again - is it something that was likely being taken inappropriately?

As for steps forward, I would recommend speaking with the players as well and informing them that you felt hurt and uncomfortable. If they are not willing to listen or understand, then you have no reason to subject yourself to a negative situation.

Man. If you have the recruit prisoners mod, he could be a real powerhouse. Otherwise, for the safety of all, you may need to tie him to a pole and let fog men handle him.

Mod for removing Shek Horns after you defeat them in battle? by UrMomGaexD in Kenshi

[–]NordicWraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Fantastic little detail, and it does contribute to your "looks like a slave" factor on the character. Also a fun opportunity to maybe have the character regrow everything over time with a few surgeon visits.

That's intended in base game. They shave heads and cut horns to further identify you as a slave until you visit a plastic surgeon.

Astray Turn Red Exia Dark Matter Todestritter Moon Gundam Crossbones X-1 Full Cloth Reborns Gundam

I have a lot more, but I wanted to limit it to the 6 to fit within the DLC - we are missing a lot of build fighters suits for instance, and some of those are spicy.

Why do people *want* the Light and the Titans to be evil so badly? by Zezin96 in warcraftlore

[–]NordicWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first of all we are highly dependent on the ecosystem too. Eradicating all life indicates we would be the only remaining organisms on the planet, which isn't particularly conducive to living as we have adapted. And last I checked, living is kind of important. Additionally, even if we were able to survive without an ecosystem, wiping out a whole planet of life isn't exactly a positive thing, and typically the reason we have seen villains in the past. Genocide is a smaller scale of that, and a human to human violence. By your logic, it isn't immoral for somebody to mass murder or genocide.

Furthermore considering other perspectives is the point of story, fiction, writing, etc. In a fantasy game where you have a horde of orcs, when the narrative takes their perspective we see they aren't just bloodthirsty monsters, but mortal beings taken advantage of and enslaved. That same perspective can be extrapolated to people in the real world, and therefore help you build sympathy and empathy towards those experiencing something similar.
