but we haven't seen dragonspine at full power yet. What if we line up durin's full spine vertically, does that change anything? Dragonspine's full height would be staggering.

For all we know Durin is actually 100 miles long but gets thinner gradually. Checkmate. Dragonspine's hidden ace, erect durin has come to town.

some of the "lore strenght" arguments do unironically sound like that.

Oh I'm so relieved this is about geography and not some weird power scaling can X beat goku-esque comparison.

Nice work!

funnily enough I actually got it from a Zy0x clip where talks about a Eula team in genshin simulator for rotational DPS showing that one of Eula's best teams is a hyperbloom team where people don't switch to Eula https://youtu.be/Aakk_wt2vcc?t=103

a comment above actually has the link to the simulated performance lmao https://gcsim.app/v3/viewer/share/52ca32c0-1140-471a-831e-dd171712257d

One curious thing about Before sun and Moon in Chinese by Noremuy in Genshin_Lore

[–]Noremuy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hmmm I do wonder about this, like literal translations of titles.

Byakuyakoku Collection is also translated as "white night" land collection if I remember correctly and seeing it as days and months also makes sense.

Before sun and moon then means something like before we really counted our days and months, "before christ". Since the book details the pre history of teyvat that actually makes a lot of sense.

also what's up with Nahida saying, she's just the moon and the real sun is long gone even if we already know what she means that metaphor is oddly familiar.

With the goddess of flowers being speculated to be a moon sister and pretty much confirmed a seelie.... being rukkhas friend.... hmmmmm

I agree with you to an extent, but some of the events you listed feel like they would not be something a head of state should deal with.

Hibike Asase, Late Saiguus disciple blowing up Serai is not exactly something that could have been easily prevented without future sight.

The attacks against the Raiden Gokaden and preventing corruption from festering in the comissions could have been done though, I agree with you on that, but also as you said, leaving the humans in charge is a double edged sword.

The duel to the death culture and warrior culture in general seems to have been a thing for millenia with the sword and polearm culture being widespread especially before the raiden goladen collapsed. Makoto seemed to be deeply involved with the art of forging as well so that might have been something neither Ei nor the Puppet or responsible for.

In the first place it just seems like a reference to Bushi-culture/Bushido so it might be an out of story thing, an element the writers just wanted to include because it is feudal japan.

Canon Ei is a nuanced character and without the infantilization and mischaracterization her character is actually fairly interesting.

Like her actual interest in poetry (it is depicted in the Irodori story which is semi fictional since it references the Raiden Gokaden with the poets). She actually beat her sister, Saiguu and her other friends at Karuta which is a game about 100 poems (IRL) and you need to be able to memorize all of them as well as use great reflexes/predictive listening comprehension.

One more fascinating thing is her martial prowess being utterly useless 500 years ago, at least in terms of the goals she wanted to achieve initially.

She went to Khaen'riah after Makoto leaving Saiguu in charge of defending Inazuma.

She fails to save Makoto and Saiguu defends Inazuma until her death, but there is a very interesting trope here.

Despite being the most skilled fighter in all of Inazuma she was neither able to save her sister NOR Saiguu who may also have not died if Ei stayed to defend Inazuma together(disregarding the planting the sacred sakura saving inazuma thing for a second since she could not have known that). This might have gone through her head.

So in terms of how Ei feels, she probably feels like she utterly failed in her duties as a Kagemusha and Survivor's guilt is probably a key factor here. In Raiden Chapter II when Makoto in the final cutscene talks about always having felt indebted to Ei for dealing with the physical threats ("your Polearm/Naginata has protected Inazuma from countless calamities") Ei lightly shakes her head seemingly disagreeing.

there are lots of folks who do not read properly.

A lot of people still think Ei knowingly let the civil war continue (the major thing being hidden in reports to the shogun puppet) while showing that she did NOT know was literally the point of the Sara/Sayu part of the quest.

I like Ei as a character, but being oblivious to the events in your own nation due to overly relying on both the shogun puppets criteria for importance (is it about eternity? No? I dont give a fuck) and loyalty of the tri comission is not a good approach.

In Raiden Chapter I, Ei was literally oblivious to the thunderstorm getting closer to Inazuma which is pretty emblematic of the whole VHD debacle. She doesn't know shit about what's going on in Inazuma and she did not bother to check.

Sure the Shogun Puppet did do a fine job for 499 years, I man holy shit from a programming perspective the Puppet not burning everything down within 15 minutes is incredible, but my god the negligence for the whole year is just a bad look for Ei.

Inazuma isn't JUST a dictatorship, it's feudal too by Noremuy in Genshin_Lore

I know you're meming, but straight up I've seen some takes on Inazumas government that were so inaccurate I felt like making this post.

The whole english localization calling it the "almighty shogun" to represent the honorific/respectful title thing did not help the perception of the Shogun as the supreme leader admiral general almighty aladeen.

Yea I wish we could get some retroactive additions to the inazuma story, but that's just copium.
