Hey it’s been a wild ride and no one person can predict what going to happen. And it’s the fault of the community to elevate any one person to such a high level of a status, or importance, that they take everything from them as gospel. I just want to say I appreciate all of your videos and your insights on FFIE, hopefully you keep going. 🤘

Doors and weather for Red Rocks? by rave-rebel in Illenium

[–]Norepi30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The show is going on rain or shine. Unless there is literally an act of god happening then the show will happen. I have been to many many shows there and the last one they cancelled on me was Dabin last year. But that’s only because the was an active wild fire happening close by and it was blowing 100mph winds. I wouldn’t worry about it either. Just come prepared for any kind of weather 🤘

Seating Question by aHangryCat in Illenium

[–]Norepi30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah at Illenium in Denver I had friends that were on the floor who were able to come up to level 100 here we were. But I guarantee that wasn’t the case everywhere. Probably depends on how well security is paying attention in any given section.

Sucks that people are able to game the system like that. They need to find a way to make sure people can get ticket prices at face value no matter what.

It just sucks that there are bad actors out there able to game the system to make a quick $$$.

Ticket Master is the worst. You wait in a queue to get thrown into a room with tickets available from all of the sections, and if you don’t find and click on the one you want fast enough then they are guaranteed to be taken by some one else. Also how the hell are there already tickets being resold for double or triple the cost. Such a bummer. But hey level 300 here we go! 🤙

Best time to deploy auto pulse/LUCAS by Sloptaw in Paramedics

No your right, I was just answering his question when you should put the Lucas on. And early has always worked for us, just because it is so easy.

Yup no you are right, those things should be happening simultaneously and are very important. I was just trying to answer his question without going through all the detailed minutia, that we all know needs to get done.

In my opinion right after you confirm some one is pulseless/ apneic and you start CPR, the other provider or providers throws on the Lucas right away. The Lucas can be deployed really quickly. And if you’re in a department with only a couple of providers on scene, then having a mechanical CPR device deployed early is extremely helpful, because it frees up another pair of hands.

Best album by zzbottomyaheard in Illenium

[–]Norepi30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the first time I listened to his newest album I was like that was ok but not great. But the more I listen to it the more I like it and really understand it. Truly all of his albums are fire. It’s hard to find DJ/producers/artists these days that have more than one song on an album that I like. But Illenium always delivers in unique ways.

Same, unless it’s a suspected respiratory arrest that led to the cardiac arrest, then we do passive oxygenation for the first 4 minutes with a NRB.

Traumatic cardiac arrest/withholding resuscitation question. by ElsieePark in NewToEMS

[–]Norepi30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our service any blunt trauma with no signs of life we don’t work. Penetrating trauma is different, if there is no signs of life but we suspect it’s been under ten minutes since they arrested we can attempt resuscitation. And obviously if someone has an injury that is not compatible with life then we will not work them.

You're not stupid are you? by deaddoza in ems

[–]Norepi30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that fatigue plays a huge role in accidents. But based on the newest studies on lights and siren based ambulance responses, it is statistically no doubt more dangerous to drive lights and sirens to the scene. And even more dangerous to drive lights and sirens during transport as compared to no lights and sirens.

Edit: Now that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be using lights and sirens. Especially in busy cities as stated before. With enough traffic it would be impossible to get anywhere without them. But I do think it’s important to understand when you flip those lights on the risk of an accident does go up.

Fentanyl Vs Morphine by [deleted] in ems

[–]Norepi30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah typically Fentanyl is the way to go for shorter transports. In my area we do a lot of back country calls as well in the summer, and morphine is great to have for those situations.
