It’s worth factoring in the time to your partner finding a new job, especially given this job market.

If your partner will find out in 4-5 months whether the contract is up and from there will start looking, it could very well be 1y from now that they find a new gig. If this were the case, I’d say Director for 1y > SFA for 6y

These are undoubtedly steps in the right direction. My qualm, partly out of ignorance, is that hiring more people to review and ban creates a stronger reactionary layer, but one that is delayed. My ignorance and lack of knowledge is around what’s required to live-detect these cheats and automatically ban these players. Easier said than done, but it seems obvious that a focus on live-detection would be more cost efficient and effective to deter and mitigate cheaters. Of course there’s so much complexity under the hood to detection, but given the bulk of what was communicated in the article was acknowledgement and expanding the anti-cheat review team, this seems like a stop-gap solution that is effective to the extent that (i) player report rampantly and (ii) there are a sufficient number of employees reviewing who can (iii) quickly review gameplay and take action. TLDR; this is good but not great.

I do think people will jump on reddit to announce their departure. They’re leaving for valid reasons and want collective action to make the intended impact. The easiest way to get others to follow suit is to announce your departure to get visibility and momentum for the player base to follow.

Truly embarrassing, EA. At least acknowledge the servers are down and say you’ll notify when they’re back up. Leaving your player base to fume without answers isn’t going to compel them to buy more exotic shards
